VOSA targeting overspeeding

or you could drive with the cruise set 3kph below max :open_mouth: then when you catch a truck up you would be able to overtake swiftly…without having to sit right up his arse until you think you can take him on a hill :bulb:

The Daf unit that is nominally ā€œmineā€ has a useful feature in that the maximum speed that the CC can be set to is 85kph, but the thing will actually go to 89kph on the throttle pedal. So I happily cruise at 85kph until I come up behind a Morrisons etc truck, at which point I squeeze a few more kph out of it until safely past.

Yes…I had this on the Cfs I drove for warburtons.

The odd thing is none of the other three identical trucks that we have had at my depot (all part of a larger fleet, bought at the same time, from the same dealer, near consecutive number plates etc) exhibit the same behaviour. On all the others, max speed on the CC is exactly the same as max on the pedal - 85kph.

Would you agree that this feature is handy…roymondo?

Harry Monk:
I just hang a CD in my windscreen so VOSA can’t see me. I sail past their checkpoints with 26 tonnes of steel plate on the deck and 26 tonnes of hanging meat on the roof with my 14-year-old boy doing the driving. :stuck_out_tongue:

BS.
A Stobart driver in the RDC told me that it only works with DVD discs.

Yes, I think it is moderately useful.
