VOSA dodgers at Stranear

Bit odd that,a fleet of Irish boyo`s going round the back lanes to avoid the check point, also the low bridge, may have been the other reason, good wooden cabin in Skreburn, called the Teapot,it is a good view along the coast and bays.

I always used to call into that cabin on my way to Stranraer, nice people and good food. Cup of coffee and a square sausage sandwich then sit outside and enjoy the view, or go for a wander if the tide was out.

Couple of views of the bay I took outside the cabin back in 2009.

I sometimes stop there and the food is ok - TBH though I’ve not seen anyone leave the boat and track around the checkpoint  Maybe I’m just naive but everyone seems to go the same way to me

So there are three possible reasons, but the first thing you say is they are dodging a check point. A fantastic use of logic there :unamused:

Considering you still pass the weighbridge when using the low bridge diversion I can’t see the logic in your post but I’m guessing I’m not the first to mention that.

You can avoid the weighbridge but you have to go all the way through Stranraer without the Jock Police noticing. Police are brainless idiots but a ‘fleet of Irish boyos’ trying to avoid a checkpoint does tend to stick out a bit.

I’m surprised you made it that far anyway. Last time you barely made Dumfries before the big nasty Stobart driver forced you off the road.

Check point Charlie is at Castle Kennedy,to avoid that, the route for over height trailers, you carry on.
