Volvo FH16 6x2 1995 fuel tank

Hi,

Does anyone know where would be a good place to try to locate a Volvo FH16 6x2 1995 fuel tank please.

The one on my unit is a F12 tank, so I am keen to replace it with the original 510 litre tank (8156638).

I am from Bristol, there does not appear to be any at Snows and the only place that has been suggested to try so far is Fintec of Leek.

Any other ideas would be appreciated,

Hiya Ryan…i’ve just spoke to fin for you and if its the round tank he.s got one… get your measurements
you can ring him on 07850 517692…just tell him jonny holland asked about it… if fin has.nt got one try steve passoni
in Crewe i know hes just taken a engine out of a F16 but don’t know what hes done with the rest of the truck

Thank you very much for calling Fin, unfortunately, my tank is not round.

I currently have the one on N777RDF below, but this is slightly too long, too allow the correct new wings to be fitted.

The correct one is shown on N333RDF below, which is part number 8156638.

I believe the original one was injured in Minsk, with a trailer incident. It appears that the current one is off a F12.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ryan, if the tank you’ve got is aprox 55" long it’s probably an F10/F12 550l item, it could also be a left hand tank from a twin tank 4x2 FH which is a similar size & would also have the filler at the front when fitted on the RH side. (as would an F series tank)

Thanks John, I have the part number, but not the measurements as these are not shown on the Volvo parts system.

Spot on Ross, it is appx 55 inches. The one it originally came with was 510 litres, hence the current one is slightly longer.

I will try Fin and MK.
