Volvo’s parked up
Some more platform trucks
They used to service the boom straight up but being in the flightpath of BHX airport they soon had to stop doing that!
The chassis needs to be level with the legs taking the wait and the wheels off the ground
The Bronto 62m again
Yes, the yard was sloping AND the tripod wasn’t totally level either
DVLA lists this Volvo as white!

Hello Adrian,
I have waited for this pic very long.
Do you have any more infos about this blue Volvo above or some more pics?I´ve made pics of it at the Nürburgring very long time ago (see page 1 in this thread from 20.12.09)
Next question: Are you " Lord Dunfunkington"? If yes keep your very nice white Globetrotter in the eyes!
It´s a very nice one you will not see every day!
Regards

This team has bought the truck from the US to do most of the LMS series in Europe, comes complete with thier 53ft trailer and
ever so patient Driver who let all us Europeans crawl all over it and ask loads of obvious questions.
My new truck, not painted in team colours yet. We have to hire in a box van to take all the kit we can’t carry in the other truck.

Give me that Iveco parked nexk to it any day of the week!
Your new Volvo looks very tidy mate. What size tyres does it run on? They look a bit smaller than standard truck tyres.

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not. I’d love to have a go driving it especially trying to master the gearbox (have driven truck with constant mesh boxes, but not for a few years) The dash layout of the Volvo was pretty similar to mine, had a ■■■■■■■ engine and obviously there is loads of space. But the Driver did say that hauling it round Europe was something of a challenge.

I think it’s 385/50 (super singles not by choice it what it came with) on the front and 315/60 on the rear. has a lower fifth wheel height than standard UK spec, although not a mega low one, which is not so good on the box van, (I had to raise the travelling height on the unit to avoid scrapping the trailer legs) but will work well on our transporter as it will sit level.
It’s only sitting high there as I’ve unloaded the trailer.
I was a bit worried when we got it as I was the only person that had seen it, I was told to go and find a 4x2 Globetrotter XL, not a great deal of choice on the UK and I got my boss to go £10,000 over budget on my reccomendation.
But since I’ve been driving it. I’ve been very happy with it. very nice to drive especially compared to our 2003 FH12 with over 900,000kms on it. Very tidy inside, (credit to the previous drivers) and quite high spec, the dealer had the drivers seat re-upholsted as it had just started to go on the side, but that was the only mark on the interior. Nothing to bad on exterior.
Here’s my mates new truck on the volvo stand at oswestry.
Cheers for the info muckles.
That new Ricketts Volvo looks very smart.

That photo was taken over 5 years ago in the depths of Wales It was parked up next to a church and at that time I was just getting into photography.
