Just think of it like this…the first one is out of the way. In a way it will take some pressure off you, you’ve had your first knock and it had to happen at some point. Now you can get on and not be worrying about hitting something. You’ll laugh about it in a few months

Thinking about the mistake I made on Friday I can laugh about now but it could have had disaterous results - my trailer wheels went over a kerb and one went back on the road it werent half swaying about, I thought it was going to roll over :open_mouth:

You’ve had your fair share of “first ones out the way” ain’t ya mate.

Do you reset your having a knock - o meter back to zero to entitle you to have another “first time” one

Only kidding bud

Why is it that so called professional drivers will sit in their cabs in an RDC and watch a fellow driver try and get into a tight spot? It is no shame to accept help and if it prevents an accident all well and good.

A little help from someone who knows what they are doing is much appreciated even when you have been driving for many years.

Another point, the bin lorry that collects my rubbish and virtually all tippers have rear view cameras, when will artics join the rest of them?

There’s also no shame in offering a little help.

Wait till you get to play with a stretchy trombone trailer, I done a good one pulling into a yard with a 60ft load, dumb driver had parked opposite the gates, so waited a bit to see if he come back no joy, so thought ok to get in that gate I’m gonna need to be close to him, betta lock the self steer axle, well if ya have ever looked at the locking mech it’s an air activated pin that pops up, so pulled the button out heard the wooooosh of air and clunk of pin, trundled off for the gate left enough room for the tail swing went through the gate great, until I noticed the steer axle was turned great big bloody gouge out the trucks door parked on the road an a few bits of trim missin, apparently this bloke had a habit of parkin there bet he don’t now though, so we all have mishaps and he who don’t …don’t do anything.

A lot artic bulkers have cameras fitted because most quarries insist on them but to be honest they are only good for making sure no one is standing directly behind.
