and organising night trunkers into watchers as they drive at night
What
I’ve done night trunking. You want me to, slow down to 5 mph, while I drive through the lorry parking area of an MWSA. Hopefully, I will be able to drive through. At the same time, you want me to check that no low-life is trying to cut your curtains/ gas you/ break into your cab.
You want me to do this at every MWSA between my depot and change over point.
You want every night trunker to do this.
Obviously you do, because for us not to do this means there will be times when there is no night trunker driving through, so times when the low-life has free access.
Night trunking is done for several reasons. One of which is - clear roads, so I can cover a long distance in my shift.
Not if I have to drive into every MWSA I can’t.
Most people park up at night so they can sleep.
They won’t be getting that much sleep if every few minutes, a night trunker is driving through the parking area.
thats a little bit dramatic - of course that isn’t what i meant but if you are driving along a dual carriageway and as you pass a layby you spot a white panel van parked next to a container with an open door and a couple of gadgies ■■■■■■■ boxes into the van you could make a call to a police/union organised criminal hotline.
or
you stop for 45 in a msa and while there you spot an old ■■■■■■ van driving around the lorry park very slowly and in your mind a little suspiciously you jot down the reg number and make that call etc.
it’s not going to be inconvenient to you and could actually get some of these scumbags locked away before a fellow driver is killed because they woke up at the wrong time.

i keep my eyes open anyway. i did see some dodgey looking unloading near croydon once and i discreetly took a few pictures on my mobile. croydon cop shop cut me off and truckpol didnt return my call

thats exactly the type of thing the unions and the transport bodies should be trying to organise with the police, a hotline number for drivers to call if they see any suspicious activities whilst driving around.
next time mention seeing a gun and they’ll be out quicker than you can hang up on them.
Write about something you understand because its blatantly obvious you know nothing about the miners strike or miners.Scargill was right, and the destruction of our communitys is living proof. We came out on strike to protect our jobs and communitys and were more than happy to stand and fight (some of us did more fighting than standing).
You are right, I know nothing about miners, but thanks to Mr Scargill and his lemmings I no longer live in a council house. I still have the steel windscreen protector from my truck hung up in the garage (sort of a trophy) - thank you welsh miners and of course Mr Scargill
Scargill isnt why you dont live in a council house , its because Thatcher sold them all
I would love to take you to some places I tip round Wales and see you “thank the Welsh Miners” proud men whose only available work in some areas is working on a poxy line in a factory, but not to worry hey, I am sure they will be glad to know you have managed to buy a house
Some areas have never recovered , this wasnt all about uneconomic pits it was about the witch Thatcher taking on the unions and proving a point , at the expense of the local communities, but not to worry, where the mines once stood there is now a Mcdonalds /Morrisions/Tesco where grown men can work and try and support the family on minimum wage
If I had been a driver at the time of the strike I would never have crossed a picket line , I would have changed jobs rather then dump on another working man standing up for his rights.
thankyou my friend you have restored some faith in the human race for me
Ollie:
…in fact, how about joining my newly formed union (established 2 minutes ago) the DKOL (Driver 's Keeping Ollie in Luxury), you send me £5 each a week and I’ll send you a postcard from each port of my luxury cruise. I will of course be on ‘Official’ Union business.
Ollie (Leader of the DKOL Union)
Yes I feel much better for that
Ollie - you’re wasted as a driver - ever thought about a career in politics?
