You can afford to work for this money when you can buy a 3 bed semi for £60000 oop north, you can’t buy a studio flat in the south east for that,
yep i agree with you there, but dont get me wrong what we have up here on local radio and television that the young are moaning not enough affordable housing when there is plenty. they just want to live in fancy show homes with their golf gti’s on the drive.
44 Tonne Ton:
Mebbe everybody has got a job that pays more than £8.50 p.h.? It’s not exactly fortunes, is it? The fact you’ve had such a poor response should tell you something!
£8.50 is not bad
With Overtime, bonus,Night out, ect, ect gives that over £40000.- take Home.
Better then Tsco

Wow you was lucky finding a 3 bed semi for £60,000
Most of the houses less than £60,000 in the area you exampled, are dumps literally, I know I saw them during searching for a Home, We are buying one for £68,000 in Upton nr South Elmsall, Hope to exchange and complete very soon
I hope you’ve done your homework on the area! The price should have rung alarm bells.

Problem is drivers think they are worth more than what they are, advertise it around the polish commmunity, ive just taken on a pole and he is far superior in his work and apperance than other applicants that i had for my driver vacancy, uk drivers need to start waking up a bit.
Ha ha i cannot believe this… Polish driver well turned out ! How much english does he speak ? “Far superior in his work” how would you know that unless he has worked for you for some time, But then if he had worked for you for some time you would have sacked him by now as all the accident costs and repair bills to you fleet would be mounting up by now. Just get up to the Purfleet By Pass and see how many Polish drivers hang around their waiting on loads with their smashed up units.
In my opinion, as for the £8.50ph their isnt a decent pol driver out their worth half that and i have experience of dealing with some of these fella’s, cras, unwashed, uncaring but then what do you want for minimum wage.
rocketman,
you must of had a few problems with polish drivers, this lad has worked for me for 6 weeks, in this time hes had no accidents, there has been no problems with our customers, and he speaks very good english.

Wonder what your opinion of Poles would be if a Polish haulage firm came over here and undercut you for the work. After all that`s all the Polish drivers are doing to British drivers

I just can’t get my head around the maths.
Take home £656. Subtract four nights out at £25 means nett wages of £556.
A nett wage of £556 requires a gross wage of £752.

752 divided by £8.50 = 88.5 hours a week?
In fairness to the OP he does say he’s on class 1 work so maybe that pay rate is higher.
