Uniloads - Avoid like the plague!

send them an email directing them to this site showing them that the power of the internet is already giving them bad publicity and that you a decent citizen must do your duty and pass on your knowledge to those whom may wander their way…

Goofball…I like your style!
I’ll get my money 1st, then may just do that!

Tachos are not needed in new vehicles but many dealers insist on it. Remember all the Scanias and Mercs being delivered by spotty yoofs from Immingham and Hull.

Most hauliers would not want a Scania that had just been thrashed up the motorway at 80mph for 7 hours

I was tempted to apply to Uniloads when I first passed my class two in Nov 05. I am sure as hell glad that I did’nt. What a bunch of con men. Who in their right mind would expect someone to hitch hike loads of miles for a training excercise. Who would stop for a geezer standing beside the road without trade plates, you would grow old before someone stopped. And as for expecting you to stay out at night in a day cab or find accomodation that they will not pay the full cost of, well talk about having your cake and eating it. No wonder they are always after drivers and will take someone on 10 mins after passing their test. I am sorry for your troubles and hope you get it all sorted soon.
Cheers

The frightening thing here is i was told by a trade plater Uniloads are the best in the business. So what are the others like?

i was informed also that they are the best in there business.

i always see them and adverts for car transporters so i assume there both bad

Unfortunately, I work for Uniloads and have to admit that they are not the best company to work for and I am desperately trying to find other work to get away from them.

Some of the stories I’ve heard from other drivers and experienced myself reinforce the comments made here about them. These include drivers being instructed to collect a vehicle that the people at the collection point knew nothing about. Being told it’s imperative to be at a collection point at a specific time only to find vehicle not there or not ready. Having to drive vehicles that wouldn’t even get through an MOT in Kenya, never mind the UK. Drivers being left out on industrial estates in the middle of no where without accomodation/vehicles, and when you call dvr support, all youb are told is go and find somewhere (sure, there’s plenty of B&Bs and transport in Bruntingthorpe) Money owed not being paid correctly or on time. They will use the slightest excuse to dock money from drivers.

They seem to have a total disregard for the welfare of thier drivers and are only interested in getting money for the job from the clients.

It seems of late though, that they may be struggling to make ends meet and remain solvent. The supposed 24hr driver support has been cut back (not that it was any use to start with) Really clamping down on how much fuel we use, ie only allowed to put in enough to get to where we are going, regardless of traffic/wind/ wrong addresses being given/getting lost.

My advise would be to stay away from them, you’d be better off with an agency.

surely a a job for “watchdog” if ever there was one?

Thanks Jonboy, but have been here for quite a while.

re-registered with new user name and email address to protect my identity, as I know that people at Uniloads also read this forum and because of my history and details it would have been to easy for them to pinpoint where the post came from.

As much as I hate the company, they still pay the wages which goes to paying the bills etc etc

Over five years on, probably a thread worth resurecting! I was trawling around t’internet do get the low down on Uniloads from the people who have done it - still much the same I would wager■■?. Sounds as bad as doing Television Facilities work, anybody who has done that will know exactly what I mean!!

Purely for the hell of it and because I was bored at the time I filled in Uniloads online application form two or three days ago, I havent heard anything back from them yet and dont expect to considering I live near the arctic circle, or feels like it sometimes.
