Typical skip driver oooops

Why is this particular driver typical, rather unfair on the majority

Bluey Circles:
if ballast is well packed down it can be the same weight as concrete, so 14 cubic yards could weigh just under 24 ton, (14 cubic yards of well packed down earth could be 17 ton)

Our JCB has a 1m3 (heaped) front bucket which picks up 2t of ballast/type 1. Topsoil is roughly 1.5t and water content makes virtually no difference, if this week is anything to go by.

Tarmac duck:

Just another assumption like the usual response to accidents/ mishaps where the usual answer is ‘typical agency’…

Typical response…

I had a private house delivery in Birmingham one day. I parked a few yards behind a skip and when I got back to the cab, they were just hooking the skip to the lift arms. This was a mid size skip but the builders had stuck old doors along the sides so as to get more in. As far as I could see, it was mostly rubble and paving slabs - neatly stacked on top.

The driver tried to lift it and his front wheels just went up. He put his legs down and tried again but no chance. When I left, the builders were busy unloading paving slabs and the skip driver was gone.

selby newcomer:
Wtf was in that skip??

aah, that’s where I must’ve lost my wallet.

The old “greedy boards” trick. Most sensible skip drivers see this and don’t even bother trying to lift it in this case.
