I reckon these Dutchman are sufficiently switched on to the situation without any help, I have rarely eaten in a routier without the company of at least one Dutchman . Wish I could say the same about the Brits

my claim to fame this week came in Rouen. I was cleaning out at Oissel and a Dutch driver asked me where I was loading. I told him I had to load in Louviers at 10am the next day. it turned that so did he :stuck_out_tongue:

During the next hour, several dutch and belgians came and went and this old Dutch lad said he would come with me. They all suggested different parking areas although everyone agreed to avoid the Arcotel

I took the Dutchman to a favorite of mine only to be followed by 3 Belgians and 2 Dutch who both new better earlier in the day.

My new found Clog Wearing compatriot agreed that it was the best meal he had eaten in Rouen and he made the others buy me a drink

LE SUD 3 has a couple of advantages to the Centre Routier. Mother and Daughter

The Mother is ā€œle chef du manouvreā€

A couple of others David if we cannot get to the famed Chez Jo

Les Hayons is worth a visit too

Any chance of directions or location?

Is this at J3 on the A154 Louviers Sud? I don’t know it because I always use the N15 past there but if you confirm it I’ll add it to the ā€˜resto map’.

The Mother is ā€œle chef du manouvreā€

I hope she wears a hi-viz  .

Where’s that? The only other one I know apart from the Arcotel (Centre Routiers are good but not as good as the traditionals) is at Amfreville-la-mie-Voie on that bit of by-passed road at the back of the Pirelli factory on the N15 across the river from Sotteville and St. Etienne de Rouvray. A bit tight for parking but a good feed. The last time I was there the Chef was an Algerian who had worked in London, so spoke a bit of English.

Salut, David.

Sorry, Le Sud 3 is very close to the centre routier on Grand Quevilly. If you look over to your left as you come to the Centre Routier and Zone Portuaire on the A13 you can see it. Coming from the Centre Routier take the very first exit before the A13.

Les Hayons is just off the A28 towards Abbeville about 20 km from the Tunnel

The chef du manouvre does wear a hi viz :stuck_out_tongue:

It says Chef du manouvre

Thanks Malc, can’t say I know them though but will keep a lookout if I am in Rouen again

Les Hayons, that’s ā€˜tail-lifts’ in French, any significance in that? Doesn’t mean there’s shirt-lifters there does it :open_mouth:

Salut, David.

I never liked the Acotel in Rouen, but used it as it is opposite the Crown(ICI) paint works and always had an early tip there the following morning.

You always get a clever bugga dont you? :stuck_out_tongue: Im not aware of any any shirtlifters in the village of Les Hayons, but you never know if there is a lone gay

Kerbut, the Resto is just past the Arcotel, past the BP garage to the roundabout and first exit. Its a 5 minute walk from ICI

Am I at cross purposes here? Isn’t the Arcotel the Centre Routier just down from Ferrero Rocher, on the other side? Or is that another one? We used to load out of FR often. They would keep you hanging about half the day even when you finally got on the dock, and then give you paperwork for a next morning tip in Bordeaux :open_mouth: .

I’ll dig out my street map tomorrow and then I’ll know what I’m talking about :unamused: .

Salut, David.
