My mate Gogi , he was just a great kid we got on well together , after all the lads left Trans Arabia. (Replaced by Philo’s ) We lost touch although he still lived in the area , I Was working for TASECO TMS down the Abqake rd ? DAMMAM side Well one glorious SUNNY morning WHO pulled into our yard ■■ It was GOGI driving from U.K. In a Transcontinental loaded up for Khamis he said his brakes where no good !! ( talk about old times ) I relined his front end and checked the rest , we both new the need of brakes 800 miles down the track he was well pleased . Now that very evening I had got a invite from a nurse to S/t Patrick’s night in ARAMCO so I took Gogi to the party !! What a night we had the nurses dresed us up in bikenys with wigs on lipstick the lot , we where in charge of the bar serving Green Sadiky that was a night to remember believe me ■■ Two days later washed and well fed Gogi whent on his way that was the last time I saw Gogi RIP

Well that was a brilliant surprise to awake on a damp cold morning and find , ( someone )that is connected to Trans Arabia Wow photos are great Trans Arabia lives on , how refreshing are those photos , THANKS to (dhtriyadh) hope you will keep this thread alive as I have always hoped some one would , as the old timers fade away ■■ Please keep the memories of Trucking in KSA alive , The ERFs & Macs look fantastic with the iluminus yellow stripes Thanks again to ( dhtriyadh ) Ron

Welcome to the forum dhtryadh! I held back in the hopes that Ron would give you a proper welcome first; and he didn’t disappoint!

Your contributions will be valued by all on here.

Ro

Brilliant pictures this morning they must have been taken after 1982 because the Macks have had there sleeper pods removed

Commercial motor clipping from 1980.

Good afternoon - old friends and colleagues, nice to see some action and new photos.

Our new photos of the Macks less sleeper pods(they were rubbish) Does our new feed have connections with TA?

I fear TA may have diminished due to the government cancelling a large amount of work visas!? The government is trying to get the now large population of Saudi males under 30s to work!! The growth in Saudi national population has growth massively.

Nice to see you Ron still enjoying life and not fallen out of you apple tree! You left that to me - this week! it hurt and it shakes you up - anyway feeling a lot better and I’ve just finished painting the bathroom ceiling.
So you sold your truck MrCook, as they say “ use it or loose” or in your case shift it. My Healey has laid in the garage for 4 years, not touched her, it’s time to let go. I fell out of love with it after my return from a German club meet in the Black Forest. She’ll have yo go, certainly if we are moving. To where??
Think allot these days on old times and some of the great guys I’ve worked with and a few are mentioned on this web site - I was taking some weeks ag to a life long friend of Taffy Bills.

All of you - keep safe and have a good Xmas
