Tramping advice needed for fresh one in the game

desypete:
if your going to park up on ind estates then you will need plenty of bog roll for when you need a crap in the cab or if your lucky you can park somewhere a bit out of sight and jump up on the cat walk for s hit
oh i see you said your taking bog roll so your learning

worse thing about tramping is when you need a shi t and your out in the middle of no where, god help anyone if they dont have bog roll

No offence mate but I wouldn’t fancy getting a motor after you if ■■■■ ing in your cab is the ‘done thing’ for you. I’ve been desperate a couple of times and had to resort to an Asda bag, but in the cab…no.
Maybe its’ just me in the minority,

Gas bottles banned? Just paid 28 quid for stove and hose

Gas cookers banned at our place, had to ditch mine after too many random cab inspections. Anyway invested in an electric oven and its the dogs bollox, does pies, ready meals etc a treat.

Just stick it on 30 minutes before parking up and jobs a good un.
Bit worried about the high salt content of these ready meals so may start doing a steak in it or get creative and have a lamb shank.

It makes a nice bedside table for me tablet, phone and wetwipes which are essential after a lamb shank…

I’m seriously thinking of getting a slow cooker and an invertor to run it off. Just think of the stuff you could do, get in on Monday morning and a nice 5-6 hour run down to Cornwall or up scotch, chuck in the fresh veg, chicken or beef in stock and start it off. By the time you get to your drop you’ll have a delicious warming stew that could last you nearly a week by just keep topping it up and leaving the skin on overnight

Bought one for the wife last crimbo and she loves it (although the hoover I also bought her didnt go down well), slow cooked curries are great.
Could prep all the ingredients the weekend, bung it in Monday and let the smell of the stuff keep me juices flowing throughout the day.

Might try one this weekend then bung a few bowls in the fridge ready for a reheat in me normal cooker in the truck.

They’re never grateful are they  let us know how you go on if you decide to do it and if it’s worth thinking about.

Will do have a few of those chinky foil food containers at home (other racial sterotypical meal holders are available), will get her in doors to make one then have a bowl or two for in the week.

If she does a good job I may get her to do a few different dishes for me between episodes of Jeremy Kyle, and Slack Women.

That sounds like a good idea. I’ve got a 24v microwave but getting a bit tired with pre cooked stuff.
How big an inverter would you need do you reckon, or does anybody know if there’s a 24v one on the market.

btw. Wouldn’t recommend one to the guy that says he regularly craps in his cab, splashback after a night-before dodgy curry over your beef stew may not be good

I’m guessing about the same size that power the microwave. Also you can have it at the side of you as its cooking on the cab floor and dip crusty bread to eat while tear arseing up and down the motorways

Some places have banned the gas stoves but have wired in microwaves so drivers can still self cater

Depends if your place pays for parking or if they have an arrangement with other companies to park in there yards

A read of this might help

Gas canisters are being banned by more and more companies for a very good reason and its nothing to do with fires or explosions . Its for your safty so you dont wake up dead or wake up with wat looks to be like you have had a stroke due to gas poisoning ( not carbon monoxide) because the thing has leaked

Not being funny but my cylinder is propane and if that leaked I’m sure you would smell it before you snuffed it.

Quite a few people have thought that . Now i have a gift of a foul arse to the point of being able to make the wife gag all day long funy enough in bed at night she sleeps staight thru me at my worst. Seriously tho you prob wudnt smell it it only needs so seep a bit .if you gonna have gas in your cab dont use disposable ones use the proper bottles with a proper stop ■■■■ before the regulator and turn it of after use as a cheap regulator will be just as likely leake as a dispable canister

to be honest its got to the point now where I just scroll past any desy pete post as its always either, crap in cab, dcpc ramblings or sat nav rants.

occasionally all 3 come in a post, its a shame really and seeing as I have been going with my old man since it was a sleep on a board across the seats days, and have yet to hear of a driver taking a crap in his cab :open_mouth: .

the dcpc has made desy into a one man bitter band against anyone who hasn’t crapped into a bag in his cab or has the dcpc am afraid.

back to advice, wet wipes water carrier kettle and some pot noodles were enough for me some times. but with in cab microwaves now I think I would be going for one of these.

oh and a tv was the main thing.

Get an iPad with a cold of gb of data per month . And if you have sky at home download the sky go app and download TV programs off that or the bbc iplayer or the channel 4 one . Hardly ever get me TV out anymore iPad so much less hassle .
