A - Vehicle in lane 1 was not sure if the vehicle on slip would do something silly and pull early into lane 1 so it moved into lane 2 B - Vehicle in lane 1 that moved into lane 2 should have made sure that they were not going to do what the one on the slip might do C - Vehicle already in lane 2 might have been advised to think the same as in A
LAW - Vehicle in lane 1 should NOT have moved into lane 2 if it meant they were going to change the speed or direction of the vehicle already in that lane (unless emergency) THE HIGHWAY CODE (Link)

If you need to change lane, first use your mirrors and if necessary take a quick sideways glance to make sure you will not force another road user to change course or speed. When it is safe to do so, signal to indicate your intentions to other road users and when clear, move over.
cheers for your opinions on this one people!!
Driveroneuk - great input mate and yes i could have probably allowed for his mistake a bit better but where does allowing for peoples mistakes end as i was virtually on top of him when he pulled out about and not in his blind spot.
welshboyinspain - I was on the slip road mate but it is a dual carraige way with 2 marked lanes.

Cheers Rog, and yes it was a case of him flicking the indicator and moving over at the same time, if i remember right i think his indicator only flashed once!!!

Well that’s one flash more than many drivers bother with. Round here signalling is an option most drivers don’t trouble themselves with, along with speed limits and the reason for solid white lines in centre of road.
Speed limits on motorways & DC’s usually end at the end of the slip road, not at the beginning of it. Look next time you come off a motorway. So the OP is correct.

Thank you.
virtually on top of him
puts you right in his blind spot
Not saying you were, not saying you weren’t, but it is a possibility. Still don’t make what he did right though!
And the Police Servic of this country wonder why us, the members of the general public and the human race wonder why we hold them in such low esteem?
Sounds to me like just another plod plonker hiding behind the uniform.
Nuff said.
‘Crazytrucker’
Police who tried to stop a motorist for using his mobile phone found themselves being shot at
I doubt it was the possibility of getting 3 points and a fine for using the mobile that he fired at officers but you never know in this sometimes crazy world …

Also, always remember that Micra drivers are the worst drivers around. If you see a Micra, expect when not if they are going to do something silly/dangerous.

My comment was based on the results of observations made over some time. I first noted this phenomenon back in 1999 when i was an O/D.
When i went back on the road regularly in 2004, i noted nothing hadn’t changed.
The matter has been previously discussed here at TN on more than one occasion & often agreed with.
Its not only myself that has noticed this.
Not to tarnish all Micra drivers with the same brush BUT generally I agree with Driveroneuk - just spend a few hours driving aound Leicester will prove that.
Again, not tarnishing all with the same brush… there seems to be a general sort of driver who drives a specific type of car - BMWs are a case in point.
As for truck drivers… I ain’t gonna go there </tongue in cheek>

I agree with Clarkson, all the pricks have sold their Bm’s and moved on to Audi’s they seem to be the car of choice for drivers that must get past that big truck infront at all costs, Vorsprung Durch Techpricks

What a ridiculous and pathetic comment
(and no I don’t drive a Micra)
you might think its a ridiculous and pathetic comment but nevertheless, it is accurate. i hate micra drivers too. they are worse than the bmw drivers!
