Maybe the OP was one of them Robroy he more or less has admitted trying to shove folk along the road!!!. Eddie.
I didn’t think of that maybe you’re right

Sorry to disappoint but I don’t (and never would!) drive a wood lorry.
As for “shoving people along the road”:- No; because I know the road I know where the straights are and I know when I can safely overtake. There are few more annoying things than closing the gap so that I can overtake the Lemmings when we hit the straight… to see the @##@@@## disappear at a rate of knots when the straight appears. Grrr.

Devon and Cornwall has bit hit by its annual plague of caravans!
“oh us caravan club members always pull over to let a que past” yeah right
Just yesterday had to do 50 miles behind a caravan at 25-30mph slamming on everytime there was on coming traffic, wobbling all over the road, By the time we got to dual carrigeway you couldnt see the end of the que, as you overtake them, that smug face just stares back at you. How i wish you could get out at knock it off lol
North Devon. Just outside Barnstaple all the way to Launceston.
No opportunity to pass
Dual carriageway■■? Straight section■■? just a thought
no dual carrigeways around north devon
only a few small straights but get the other 2 or 3 cars sat behind it who wont overtake when safe so have no choice but to sit there. Its the same every year.
The point is though these people are bringing in millions of pounds to the local economy in the tourist season. You may think of them as “emits” or whatever, but what would places like Cornwall be like without their investment?
Also, is no one on here a “tourist” at any point, or are you all just miserable bastads who are too tight to put your hands in your pocket once a year??
Can’t remember the road numbers but are there areas that split to 2 lanes for the uphill bits and only Audis & BMW’S use it??
A while since I’ve been in that area - was told by local Launceston pronounced as ---- Laaarnston
or similar
Jesus wept, m5 south yesterday morning, I mean WTF?
I appreciate being stuck in traffic for hours on end with your caravan might be a bit of a change from the norm but really?..
I could almost understand if the weather was any good but it’s ■■■■.
a lot more homes available that locals were not priced out of because of London folks holiday homes, more pleasurable to drive around. Im sure it would suffer a bit, but there’s plenty of local money around to keep things going. We survive fine all winter.

I was northbound (from M50) yesterday morning and did notice that there was quite a lot of traffic southbound - and not very fast
!
Saying that… my mate has decided that he is taking his caravan to Cheshire for the weekend and fully expects to spend the time purely sat in it drinking loads of cans of lager
I must buy a caravan

Had a run from Avonmouth to Truro and Helston on Friday night left at started at 6 and got back at 8:30 the following day slow all the way from j19 to 25 and you see some proper idiots bumper to bumper weaving in and out brake accelerate brake accelerate, that to me can never be described as a holiday.
Sat for hours in slow or standing traffic in the ■■■■■■■ rain then do it all again next year. I went down there for a couple of days 4 years ago and couldn’t believe how busy the place was, a very nice part of the world but to overcrowded to be properly enjoyed.
I prefer West Wales, it’s a toilet of a place but not to overcrowded.

I often watch other cars/caravans or anyone to be honest!!! Have to laugh when 2 hours later the vehicle that has been lane swapping and getting/got so wound up is still either 30 yards behind or in front of me

Says the man from Newport, one of Europe’s grimmest places
If it’s a Friday and you haven’t got to the Dartford Tunnel by 3pm then you’ve had it! a bit like the old days before the M25 when you needed to be at Scratchwood by that time …but I suppose that was every day of the week.
as a caravan towing type , i feel you collective pain . i drive my car and caravan like i drove my lorry , a to b in the shortest possible time . then you get the retired banker ( other professions available ) who thinks it a good idea to buy a 26ft twin axle caravan without a clue how to handle it , but because he passed his driving test pre 1997 it is legal . i watched one such leave a petrol station and wipe a row of pumps out with the backswing on his caravan despite me flashing the lights and blowing the horn . then there is the other side of the coin , going from inverness to ullapool behind one of morrison’s finest at 38 mph . as for devon , it’s like the lake district , overpriced and overcrowded
Before the M5 was opened it was always miles of jams on the A38, years on we’ve made no real progress.
can just pray that as acquired rights slowly phase out, people wont be so forthcoming to spend £750 for a B+E licence but if they do at least they will have a clue on safe towing.
Having lived near Inverness for 3 years, the area is beautiful part of this country, admiring the scenery every day, but the log lorry’s are on a different time to everyone else flat out on the road from Cromarty with little room to spare.
Cornwall and Devon are also lovely places, as a caravanner I have been to most of these places.
But what really annoy’s me is cars sitting in the outside lane for miles, no thought or planning what so ever.
