I have a set of green handled screwdrivers as described above by simcor. They are certainly robust and must be getting on for 50 years old and similarly roughly treated.
I have spent more time in my garage during lockdown than any other time in the 26 years since I built it, every time I got in a vehicle something went wrong, I started off slowing the rust down on the cab of my Mercedes atego transporter, then attacked the rust on the twin axle trailer, only to find the h/brake was left on and so a quick ratchet strap around the tyres and whamo all free, better check inside the drums one shoe has dropped the lining off so changed all of them, then the wifes jazz rear brakes started squeaking, off with the wheels three pads like new one worn out, then driving skoda the o/s/r brake sounds like the wheels coming off, again off with the wheels and a bit of rust in the drum shoes all ok, slip back dust cover on the cylinders both leaking, thought have a quick look at why you can hear the turbo singing, front pipe in two pieces, take it for a run wife presses window button and passenger window drops inside the door, thought ok better check the camper brakes, wheels off all good so attended to a bit of rust on the o/s/r wheel arch, and lubricated the gearchange again (every year)as fiat decided to aim the water off the screen at it, dragged the youngest boys old Yamaha ty 125 out the lean-to clean plug, points, new fuel and now wobbling around the garden reminiscing, wifes opinion to the dog (that will end in tears). and now the rules are relaxed a little the eldest boy decides we need to resurrect an old corn crusher and mount it on its trailer again, trailer done crusher done, the jap engine is not playing ball it wont run, go through all the normal bits, check the timing etc still no go so as its Friday garage shut until Monday to give the hurting bits time to heal. luckily the oldest thing in the garage the 1953 Bedford did us proud on the truck convoy run from Poole docks to the crematorium for Ron Nicklens funeral, a local mechanic, which can be seen on the sofadriversfacebook site,
