I get the value element and sitting duck etc. Although he only had 2 and a half pallets. My load was worth more. 26 pallets of £1 chocolate bars, about 6.5k per pallet.

Also they still made home wait and he was there nearly 2 hours.

It was barking and Enfield.

The delays of yesterday have impacted me today cause I had to start later therefore a different run and I didn’t mak it back for my dentist appointment

You’ll have to make it snappy next time

Yea, Bite the Bullet. [emoji51]

Was it at Twothirty ?

I was at enfield from 1210-1600 so yes it was. Was it you or were you in the q

■■■■ are always tipped as soon as they arrive on site. It is annoying though to watch them go sailing past you.

Aren’t they pre-tipped ?!

Did some odd days for Booker/Happy Shopper when they were in Didcot years ago and we were under instruction not to stop for anybody and the same for Distillers Group when in Reading…just hold a little sign up saying ‘I will follow you to the nearest Police station’. A few did stop and received a battering for the load…I remember one being robbed not long after leaving the depot

Good post Weeto. If haulage companies started to work together and start charging companies after 2 hours waiting, things would improve.

Pentalvers southampton would sink within a week
Four and a half blinking hours to take of a gen set
Grrrr

It still defeats me how hauliers allow that site to get away with being so hopelessly inefficient day in, day out. It’s pathetic.

I always think though that most of the delays in container terminals could be rectified by just automating everything London Gateway-style. I’ve sat for 10 minutes at an empty gatehouse at some places before now whilst the queue builds behind me, just waiting for the clerk to get back from the toilet and a gossip with their mates.

Sat for 20 odd minutes at K+N Derby waiting for the office to get back to the Gatehouse about where to put me. Gatehouse man was doing his nut then his computer crashed.

Not been in a while, last time I was there I spent 3 and a half hours on a bay, (for about 8 pallets from memory) then waited near enough 2 hours for the paperwork after they had a system update (at 1500hrs. Really■■?) then said system crashed.

The poor Asda bloke I was chatting to was tearing his hair out, said he’d been there 6 hours odd.

Also heard of them loading wrong trailers and dishing out wrong paperwork on more than one occasion, no idea if that’s true though.
