jessicas dad:
it seems just me but i liked to get out of the cab for something to eat at least a few times a week.
and i used to meet up with my mate a couple of times a week and i would have have been a bit of a saddo to say " no thanks il just eat in the cab."
Yeah and why not,
what i’m saying is that you might well like to get out and see your mates in your local (if you werent starting at horrendous oclock the next morning) few pints, maybe some chips on the way home.
What’s the diference in socialising in your own town, or a town in which your nighting out, none as far as i can see, only that your including this as expences inccured because of your night out, and i dont see it that way

Yes, it was the quote underneath about a couple of pints that i was responding to.
just remember to take your living expenses out of your weekly wage i.e eating out all week and a couple pf pints a week
All i’m trying to say. is that i dont think that you should include socialising as a cost incurred because of working away, when no matter where you socialised, you woukd have to pay
yes i agree there but all in all it all comes out of your weekly wage.

Ok, i’ll stop banging on about it now
porkifer:
so you keep to your boring get home at any cost day work and ill stick to my leisurely trundle to spain every week
salut
That made me laugh, Porkifer … this last trip I had cause to use the N10 from Poitiers to Bordeaux via Angouleme. Not a route I use very often so decided to call a family friend up who lives down that way and is always bothering me to call and meet up. So I phoned her on the Tuesday evening and it turns out she lives 2 minutes from Maison Blanche so we met and breakfast turned into brunch lol. Parked at 845am and left at 12 but was still down on the Algave on time on Friday. A nice leisurely drive while the likes of Jammy was driving like a lunatic to get home in time for Emmerdale

Made me laugh too, but you left out two important bits!! “i have been a tramper for 20 years” and “well balanced”!!!
There goes me with my big trap and ive been offerede another job involving 2 nights out a week…but thats not really tramping and i can take my son or daughter with me for one of my nights out but its a p’cab so i havent got a clue where they would sleep maybe i need a hammock .
mike-c , i am really well balanced , i have a chip on both shoulders , but you dont want to hear what i think of the gendarmes do you ?
