What sort of payload does that carry?
It’s yet to go on the road, but we’re hoping 19.5t at least, it’s a grain spec body. We’ve one TASCC registered & one that isn’t. The current one, an MAN aswell, carries 20t dead. The body on the new’un may well be a little heavier though. MAN had it on the stand at TruckFest p’boro, will be on the road soon.

A tidy looking truck that eight legger! Will the sleeper be ‘used in anger’ often or is it just for better resale value? Good to know you are still trading, I remember seeing your Maggies around when we used to run regularly around the Warwick/Stratford/ Henley in Arden area and also when we were surfacing the new M40 from Hockley Heath to Lowsonford a lifetime ago!
Pete.
What’s the difference between “TASCC spec” and “normal”? I’ve heard TASCC vehicles/trailers can’t carry recycled aggregate, is that right? I remember when Adams’ used to have two day cabbed 8wheelers, used to do a bit for Smiths out of Broadway quarry.

Hi Pete,
The sleeper won’t be used all that much, they currently really only work on day-work, but it’s there incase needs be! We now run 42 artic tippers & 2 (soon to be 3) 8 wheelers, we also have a few flatbed trailers too for the sleeper work.
Thanks

TASCC means we can carry grain, which is primarily the base of our work, though not much at all with the 8 wheelers. It’s just there for the option if our customer needs a smaller load of grain moving around harvest time, we have the flexibility to do it. Though with it being TASCC, we can’t carry recycled aggs, glass, scrap, waste, anything like that… Only quarried aggregates, grain & coal really.
Thanks
Sounds silly you can’t carry recycled aggregate but you can carry coal. Smiths have had to change their artics work around because Cherry Load can’t do recycled, so they’re doing premix and Smiths doing the recycled stuff to Bradstone at North End.

Hmm but that’s the way and the world of TASCC! Just have to sweep out after coal/aggs etc if carrying grain for next load, well have to sweep out in general really! We do a bit into Ducklington (Smiths). Not sure if it’s allowed here, but if anyone wants to see more pics of our trucks you can find them at our website r-adams.com

Would this happen to be you Syd?
Big wait for new tippers at the moment. Earthlines’ new lorries were meant to’ve arrived in March wont be ready until June. Three month wait for Thompson bodies apparently. Our new Isuzu 7.5tonner was available practically off the shelf, but is still waiting for it’s body at Brit Tip. Smiths Bletchington still waiting for 5 new ones, according to their drivers.
I was meant to get a new 8wheeler this year but with the wait and price rises, my boss has put it off.

You get more bloody new trucks than an agency bridge basher and Mark Dixon put together Nath
And consideration being given to restoring our 02 plate 6wheeler, given the price the scrapman quoted me if my boss weighs in the alloy body.

Syd works for us, this is his new truck. I do the transport in the office, with Mark & Andy! He struggles to use his phone for getting onto Google, let alone using a forum, haha!

This was ordered around November last year, but with the help of MAN wanting it on the stand at P’boro it got sped up a bit, AliWeld done the body for this one. We’ve got a body being built with Swadlincote Ali too, not sure on the arrival date of that yet though. That’s with a Renault cab.
