Well my late great uncle Isaac Smiles was the founder of the Co Smiles for Miles, He ran 14 of these Ford Sussex 6 Wheel Tippers in the earley 30s, He was a man that had a head for making money, He was my late Grandads younger brother, the previous photo I put on be mistake is my Grandad with his traction engine , the photo was taken at Charlie Parsons Heaton works in the twenties, , & oddley enough my son Nigel works for the Famous North East Familey run Haulage Co. J.R.Adams (Newcastle) Ltd who in fact own a building next door to where this photo was taken, Where they store some presses for Vickers, Regards Larry.

Aye thats very true, Gettingb back to the Smiles Family there is not many of them left, I have a cousin Diane whos late Grandad was Isaac Smiles, & there is one Aunty Peggy who now resides in Canada, There is a Magorie Smiles who I belive is still alive, the widow of the late Fred Smiles who ran the long distance side of Smiles for Miles, But the late Isaac Smiles had a head for making money as I have said, Hres some ERFs he owned which in fact were comondered by the war effort & two of his sone saw them in France during there term in active service in that last war 1939 onwards , Regards Larry.
