Things you see....

Once saw a plucked chicken feeding at the side of the road. Turned out to be a sainsburys carrier bag blowing in the wind. Freaked me out for hours.

Squiddy:
Seen a couple of suitcases spewing their contents across a motorway and a huge roll of carpet in lane 2 (police caught up with the vehicle about 40 miles further on). Run over a ladder and killed 3 owls. Got mooned in Worthing. Saw a freaky female figure standing in the road in Lewes in the fog at night just staring blankly.

Strangest sight I saw was a huge black bloke with stubble and tats in a white wedding dress and heels in Eastbourne in broad daylight waiting to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing. I stopped and let him cross as per highway code. He nodded thanks and carried on.

What were the owls doing on the ladder ■■?

early last week i saw a fella playing the bag pipes at the side of the motoway :open_mouth:

M40 if i remember right :open_mouth:

Not sure if it’s the same guy, but I have seen someone playing the bagpipies in a field next to the bicester ring road.

nrly every afternoon on the A56/M66 nr edenfield theres an old boy in the layby playing his trumpet, a musical trumpet that is. :open_mouth:

Half eleven this morning I was overtaken by a motorcyclist who was texting on his phone, what a complete nob, I fully expected to see him spread across the M62 further down

That’s awful, he obviously wasn’t wearing bike gloves! Safety first!

truckerjon:
Did anyone else see the Netball/basketball goal post on the A43 yesterday? It was lying beside the road north of the M40 before Brackley.
Now how on earth do you lose something like that? It must be 9’ tall, and was complete, with base, backboard and basket. Surely, if it fell from the back of a truck, you would notice it bouncing down the road behind you? It was made of strong stuff, as it appeared to be in one piece still Was it on it’s way to the olympic stadium? Is there now some international Netball final between England and Bulgaria waiting to kick off? (if thats what they do)
Maybe it was a bit of fly tipping, but it was not near a layby, and if you are going to dump stuff on the side of a dual carriageway, directly opposite the U.S military secret listening post is prehaps not the most inconspicuous place. I remember breaking down there once, and stopping on the entrance slip road, within 2 minutes i had 3 U.S military police vehicles surrounding me, although, once they found out the erason for my stopping, they did contact the RAC for me!
On a different note, I went along the A5 from towcester towards Weedon, and there, on a garage forecourt, was a wonderful old ford Capri. I don’t mean the delboy “capri Ghia” type, or the 2.8 injection boy racer, i mean the original 1960,s Ford Consul Capri. it was a lovely turqouise colour with brillient white roof, and lovely shining chrome bumpers and door handles etc, really looked great.

Ah but he did have a hi-viz on,so thinking about it he would be immune from danger

going to work one morning in the fog, i nearly ran over the landing leg off someones trailer!!

A large household boiler on a pallet in the middle of the A5 near Cannock. Further up the road a perplexed driver looking at the hole in the top of the curtain of his DD trailer.

I was running back from Plymouth yesterday when I saw a speed boat coming the other way!
It had 2 wheels rear 1 front but it was definately a orange speed boat under its own power.

Running down to Lewes, Sussex this afternoon i was passed on the M25 and then M23 by Tree Surgeons transit tippers, different companies, noticed both had a bloke lying down in the tipper bed as they passed, first one gave me a cheeky wave, second one was fast asleep in the wood chippings as they sped past :open_mouth:
