conclusion :
i allways thougt that Norway/scandinavia is the place to when like narrow road’s etc…but in the last 3 weeks i found out that the UK has a lot of challenge’s to offer for a truckdriver we drove a lot on ’ A ’ roads and i can imagine that during the winter season it can be quite ’ funny ’ to drive in the countryside. And of course in the summer time when al thouse tourist a doing 30 m/h…and a lot of strange signs…Flood!…queue’s likly…etc, etc.
but we had an good time, seen lot’s of beautiful truks.!!!
Hi…
The Met forcasted summer 2009 as the BBQ summer of the century, so we packed oure tent and we took the trip the UK again, drove via Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland and Belgium and France…
We did ’ Dunkerque-Dover’…a nice ferry,we arrived at 5.00pm in Dover,it must be a nightmare to get to Dover if you have to get on time for a ferry to France…
I live on the North York moors and I come up here very regularly. Yes it can be difficult mainly because you can be at the bottom and not know what the weather is doing half way up. I should mention that the last place you get a chance to turn back from with an artic is some 8 miles prior to the actual bottom of Sutton Bank. So it can be dry there but not up on the moor.
I have gone up and down it many times with a fully freighted artic and on two occasions have actually given up and turned an artic round on it. The alternative ‘caravan route’ as its locally known is ok but narrow in places and a long way round.
