Hiya…the last time i was at Ypres there was a small exhibition in the museum showing where a road was been made
in this centuary. some soldiers bodies had been found in the ground from WW1 along with all there possessions plus some live
bombs.the bodies of the soldiers was moved to safety. Then the army bomb disposal team was drafted in to make the bombs
safe. Unfortunately the bombs took the lives of the bomb disposal team. i,am certain 2 soldiers lost there lives 93 years after
the war ended… there names are added to the list of WW1 casualties in Ypres. an interesting but sad factor to the WW1 tragedy.

This is another shot of the sculpture at Seaham Harbour, it really does show how the face was built up. Regards Kev.
First time I,he seen this thread Kevin off to Brittany couple of days after I join you lot in the land of the unwashed, having a week in Brittany then up to Amiens for a night then up toYpres for 3nights. I have done the ww2 beaches etc 2006.My daughter has found a relative of the wife in Ypres and is now looking on my side. I saw a photo of the Seaham soldier on Facebook posted by a friend of mine in Brisbane it was a night time shot with a full moon behind him looked real and poignant.

On a sadder note, today is the 75th anniversary of Britain’s declaration of war on Germany.
Heralding yet another bloody conflict of monumental proportions and suffering, WW2.
Regards,Kev.
