If it’s a new one it should be PowerShift as that’s standard now, if you don’t like autos then you won’t like it but if you keep an open mind it’s as good as I shift, The manuals will have that horrible mushy hydraulic wand.
Axor is a 9 speed with a knock across range change, no splitter is offered even as an option with a manual.
Powershift is a 12 speed auto, but this is not standard on Axor, in fact it is a very expensive option, auto is only standard on new Actros with megaspce cab.
Err no, PowerShift is standard on all Actros tractor units, look at my name it may give you a clue as to my previous job, so I do know what I’m talking about! I’m also pretty sure that it was going on to Axor too & BTW it’s available as a 12 or 16spd.
When I did my assessment for Tesco it was the usual tacho law plus general unit \ trailer check questions etc.
Then it was a bit about health and safety.
The assessment drive lasted about 45 minutes ending with reversing onto a bay.
I did not have to do the six hour induction as it was just an agency driver assessment.
I take it from your location that you are talking about the Fradley Park depot?
Is it a full time job you are going for?
Are they taking on drivers?
As for the job…
It’s pretty straight forward without any grief as long as you keep them informed about any hold ups at the store etc.
A lot of the time you do store deliveries but there will be the odd trunk run to Goole or Middlewich.
Any more info then just shout.
Powershift is standard on the MP3 Actros, if anybody has actually seenone yet, it is definitely not standard on Axor and there are no plans to make it so, or at least that is what the Milton Keynes technical department say. Whilst Powershift 16 is available as an option over and above the 12 speed on Actros, it is not available as a 16 speeder on Axor, which as I remember is what the question related to. I suggest you recheck your tech specs newmercman
