Well the ERFs he had must have been Gardners IMO,Regards Larry.
AECs were “Old” George’s, Larry. It was “Young” George- his son- who had the Gardner-engine lorries. They were signwritten, “George M. Read”.

secondly for Leylandlover… you mentioned AM Bell…(ding dong to Macc lads)is still going strong today,
Bells went onto tank work years ago they got taken over by CRW. the Bells yard is now a MOT test and
servicing center.the chap who runs the garage is a ex ERF friend of mine, young mr Bell also worked at
ERF with me in the late 60,s

John,I met one of A M Bells drivers a few years ago at RMC in Saltley Birmingham.And yes it was a tanker collecting dust.I recall asking him about the Lister castings job.Forget the answer though.
