Norman Ingram:
What year and month did you jump down from your perch Harry, I know you are a year older, but I retired when I was 62 after taking voluntary redundancy I just didn’t want to start a fresh, so I wanted a conservatory so I built it myself and it’s still standing after 14 years, I took mine & wifes pension which I paid for with Pru, wife worked till sixty and we got our goverment pension, but we was used to manage on the private pension, so it was a bonus when we got it. But from the day I packed up, I have never miss it, too many changes for my way of thinking. now know how the wild west cowboys felt when their era was ended!
hiya,
Retired officially May 2001 but had been on the sick for a while previously.
It wasn’t so much jump down more step out of on my last day I was only in
a Vauxhall Astra van that day, last worked “cards in” about June 2000.
thanks harry, long retired.
Glad I retired when I did, got a very good rate for our pru pensions, it went down fast a year later, anyway have you made up your mind if you are going to the Gaydon show, I think Dave is looking forward to seeing the terrible twins.
Dave the Renegade:
Get your shovels by the beds drivers, could be a lot of snow heading our way from America.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
The snow shovel is stowed in the garden shed which is the first place
to become unreachable due to drifting snow, there’s no flies on me.
thanks harry, long retired.

You bought ■■? By hell you know how to treat a woman, oop 'ere in the Republic they have to buy their own.
hiya,
Dave I’m with G O M 100% buying things fo the fairer ■■■ isn’t on, yes
a little leeway today maybe could run to a card and a box of choccies
but only ones that you like yourself don’t make too much fuss of them
they may get used to the idea and always make a mental note of cost
so’s you can knock it off the next dollop of housekeeping money they
often have the audacity to ask for.
thanks harry, long retired.

hiya,
There you go then Dave, that’s the way to do it, by all means buy them a little
something but always cancel that out by finding them a menial task or two to
recoup some of the cost of the aforementioned purchase. Come to think of it
I should never have driven lorries I’d have made a great economist.
thanks harry, long retired.

hiya,
No No No Dave not marriage guidance, the churches and registered
places for getting hitched would go out of business after I’d guided
everybody away from getting married, just think the amount of old
people like me being stuck with their offspring forever, that would
be a fate worse than death, no let the young uns’ ( who by the way)
know everything get hitched get household bills and rent/morgage
evey month and live in the real world, no methinks i’ll stick with the
economy thingy’.
thanks harry, long retired.
Dave the Renegade:
You can make a commitment Norm without getting hitched. We are OK as we are.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
You tell him Dave, I wouldn’t want to wish married life on anybody
and if my old woman reads this she’ll make herself a widow in quick time.
thanks harry, long retired.
