hiya
My old army Regiment was the only oufit to give all ranks a tot of rum
each morning on first parade something to do with being a marine unit
in WW 2 and the tradition had to be carried on and I hated the stuff but
it was unheard of not to drink it, if my local was giving litre bottles of it
away I genuinely wouldn’t join the queue, now if single malt was the order
of the day I’d be first in line most likely get nudged out of the way by our
good friend Larry.
thanks harry, long retired.
hiya,
Dave , “Our Nosser” would need to be up and about very sharpish to leave
me speechless for any length of time, and catch me on a bad day as well.
thanks harry, long retired.
Harry, I don’t try to stop your chatter
just wake you up when you nod off due to your love of single malt.

hiya,
Norm, me nodding off indeed, I wouldn’t dare my, “good lady” might give
my single malt stash to the charity shop should I become unobservant due
to nodding off, Norman although you are younger than me, did do military
service must be aware of the penalties metered out for falling asleep when
on guard duty, true I can’t be shot anymore but may awaken to find myself
“maltless” and having to face life stone cold sober 24/7 for the rest of my
days, so please my friend have some remorse for someone more senior.

hiya,
I wonder is this outfit a one man operated job IE’ does the trailer
braking operate via the drivers right foot or does the “trailer boy”
still have a job to do, lazy little sods that they were, never seen
this one at Kates Cabin so I don’t know anything about the “spec”
the owner might just enlighten me, it was one like this that I had
when working for the BRS the first time it had the trailer brakes
in the passenger footwell, my memory is now rubbish but I think I
only needed to manage 16 or 18 mph to run legal so couldn’t get to
London or Glasgow from Lancashire in one hit without getting told
off by the shop steward, I did do it on occasion but wag & drag in
those days was load and proceed, usually it was only direct if you
was outbound on a Sunday, or it had taken all day to load

thanks harry, long retired.

Still an impressive looking outfit Harry, even after over 50 years since they were a common sight on the UK roads.A lot of character to those motors of that era.
Cheers Dave.
