I’ve just seen Iona Louise on the M6 between J35 & 36 
Nice way to end a nightshift, was going to go for fuel tomorrow (I only use Shell V-Power so takes a 40 odd minute round trip to Lancaster and back) but as I’d finished a little earlier than excepted, and the fuel light was on, went down today. Didn’t see it till coming back though, and didn’t realise what it was till I was alongside it. No pics sadly as I was busy driving.
really never expected to see it this far up, so keep your eyes peeled CG!

A Stobart truck pulled out of a side road as I was drivin past so didn’t get photo. But it was strange as in it was white Volvo unit with just Stobart in blue letters pullin a normal Stobart green curtain sider!? Are these the franchise units?

No, the tractor unit you have seen is one of the ESL Basic Tractor Units, which are used on shunting trailers between the bigger depots and the smaller depots.
They also work on short run Tesco work to Tesco Metro shops. Stobarts also use them as a spare tractor unit
There are 12 basic tractor units, two based at Carlisle, 5 at Goole and the rest are at Crick

Hi CG.Has anyone else noticed the ‘deliberate’ mistake in the Commercial Motor article this week. One the front cover is a photo of AY12AKU which is named Iona Louise. Or is it?. On the door its named Carol Anne!!!. However, on page 17 Carol Anne is now registerd AY12AHE.
Whats all that about then?.

Yes, I have noticed that. I think there must have been a ■■■■ up when they applied the livery (this sometimes happens).
The name should be Iona Louise because as you rightly say, Carol Anne is a registered to another Scania in the Car Transporter fleet!

I definitely need to fathom a way of taking pics while driving. Hot off the back of passing the Car Transporter on the M6, we went to visit some of my stepdads family in Manchester on Friday. Coming back home via the M66 I pulled out to pass what I thought at first was a Malcolm’s wagon, only when I got well up I noticed it was actually Debby, complete with Trailer! Didn’t see if it was Matt driving it or not though!
