Hi gill
Any time lad glad iv seen two of the rails trucks and iv got pics

Yea the blue makes the trucks stand out I think

oatcake1967:
Hi Gill all 3 were taken in Pristina Kosovo,
the Volvo was mine and the Scania belonged to a subbie
and I just did 1 trip in it when he was on holiday.

Hello Legend Scania and oatcake1967,
Thankyou for your posts marras. oatcake1967, the subbie wasn’t by any chance Ed Brewer of Penrith?
Legend Scania, yes, the blue livery stands out and its is very smart. They also have a 57 MAN TGX 7.5 Ton in the Stobart Maintanance Livery which is like that and its really smart.
Kindest regards

I still really like the old Stobarts livery you know, does look classy there. I take it there is more than 3 based at Carlisle though, I occasionally see the newer ones with “Roadtrain” on the back. Sad I know, but I noticed when they indicate all the maker lights down the side flash with the signal, really good idea imo.

And I bet the driver of the Topline feels like the dogs ■■■■■■■■

Hello dew
Thankyou for your post marra. Yes, I too like the old livery and I always enjoy passing the old drawbar around the Carlisle area. There is about 25 Carlisle Based Drawbars, which are mainly 2006 and 2011 reg, which some 54’s, 08’s, 09’s, 61’s and the two 53 reg drawbars mixed in. I have seen about 5 of the drawbars with ‘Road Train’ on the back, but I don’t think theres many at Carlisle (maybe 4?).

Since when has Eddie Stobart hauled for Royal Mail.
Regards
■■■■■■■■ Gill

dont know the full story but my father who works for a south wales haulier was telling us that during the royal mail strike his firm was given work along with various other hauliers to cross the picket lines of the royal mail… but this work was subed out from storbarts because they didnt want their wagons being seen hauling the royal mails trailors and to b crossing picket line during the strike…

Hello Legend Scania & terriers
Thankyou for your posts marras. Legend Scania, personally I don’t think Stobart’s should put the ‘Roadtrain’ on the back because it isn’t one and its a Drawbar (or drag). The circus lorries are more like at ‘Roadtrain’.
Thankyou terriers for your info on the Royal Mail/Stobart story. I hadn’t heard anything about that so Thankyou.
Kindest regards

Well I always have a quick look in this thread not coz I’m a Stobart spotter but maybe because over the years they have, and still do, run some very new up to date tackle across all their divisions which you don’t always see regularly.

@143 V8 If you feel this way about a particular thread why waste your precious time making abusive remarks to the posters who contribute to it  Just go back and log on to your Scania truck simulator for PC’s and enjoy your virtual run along the A75 blowing all the ‘beano’s’ off the road as you roar past :unamused: Yer plank

Kind Regards
Dave Penn;

i think what people seem to forget is storbarts to alot of the driver there is just a job and a means of paying the bills… okay you may have some bad drivers there… but couldnt that be said for all hauliers?? its not their fault if they get tidy kit to work with… and storbarts have given alot of drivers a chance to gain their hgv thro apprenterships… and for the spotters well hey if they want to sit in the cold and rain watching trucks come in and out of a yard then thats their problem… not exactly my cup of tea but neither is standing in a feild watching a group of over paid actors sorry footballers kick a pigs ballader round a feild… but you dont get anyone slagging them off… everyone got the right to do what they want… how ever “SAD”… and as for the tv program yes i think i was a bit OTT but tbh i think that was due to drivers and spotters acting up to the camra and makeing the show more intresting… other wise you would not have rateing just showing a green truck drive down the road.

its a low-ride and left hand drive and 4x2, so definatly not a log lorry, either a continental motor or something to do with F1 racing i would imagine.

I really should pay attention to things like that shouldn’t I?
