The Dark Lord returns!

Anyone know what happened to Richard Allinson? (or similar surname if that’s not quite right?)

He had amazing music knowledge but must have seriously upset someone high up in the BBC

He must have been sidelined when the BBC wanted more female presenters, apart from Sara Cox I cant be doing with any of them people used to moan on here about Chris Evans but he was far better than Zoe Ballache and as for Lady V I can’t find the words

I can’t stand Zoe Ball, mainly because I ain’t a morning person, and some middle class jolly jolly type bird giving me gbh on the ear holes does not improve that condition. :smiling_imp:
Sarah Cox would have been better suited for the breakfast show, she was good at it on R1 at the time, or as I said earlier Gary Davies.

The problem is on R2 they have tailored for the generation that followed on from our era , we have been left to hunt out the online stations that cater for our era .
The Dark Lord and free flowing roads were the two main things that made night runs enjoyable. Both sadly missing these days

I always have GHR on when I’m heading past Birmingham as the local traffic reports are handy

Does anybody remember Mike Dickin on Talksport, Ian Collins and the creatures of the night, Scott Chisolm and Nick Abbott.?
Ok just me then.

I was listening to Nick Abbot when he announced Kurt Cobain’s death… Always liked him.

If I’m in the area i listen to big Danny Kelly on BBC wm from 9 to 12 I think.
There worth a listen

Planet Rock on DAB and on Alexa when at home. At least she does as I ask then keeps quiet-if only I could get the wife to do the same

I found him to be a terrible mumbler to be honest. Wasn’t my cuppa tea on radio 2

alright ade, gotta agree he always sounded like he was walking backwards and forwards past the mic…

Anybody out there still remember two presenters no longer of this world? Sheila Tracey’s Truckers Hour every night, or the late, great Ray Moore and his ‘abominable indivisible loads’?
