started off with one truck fom lamplugh, then got bigger and bought aldby garage in cleatormoor, used to run tippers out of eskket quarry and tankers from there up to marchon, still has the garage but think he just has his pallet business there and rents other side out to a coach company, his son richard has a truck and does work for burridge if i remember right.
Hello yellow111
Thankyou for that. I don’t know Cleator very well so thats why the names didn’t ring a bell

Thankyou for those. Excelent marra. Is that a Jenkinson’s or a Dent Co on the back of that recovery lorry?

Dent’s and Jenkinsons, any connection? Trucks look VERY similar.
Hello dew
No, there two seperate companies, but they both do similar work (and look the same). T H Dent have 45 lorries based at Penrith and main do there own work hauling their own animal bedding. They sometimes do work for Jenkinsons, but iI would say about 90& of there work is for there own customers
Kindest regards

2nd Picture: Spot the odd one out
Since I’ve discovered who those Bulmer’s bulk wagons are, I’m sure they are stalking me. Over the last week I’ve seen one in Milnthorpe, last night there was one parked at Libby’s and another at Canal Garage, and finally I followed one into Carnforth which turned into Border Aggregates. Any idea what they are up too as it seems a long way from Penrith when there’s plenty of local companies around?

■■■■■■■■ Gill,
Do you just make assumptions about what you photograph? Yes they are two seperate Companies but 95% of Dents fleet are ran by Jenkys, they report directly to a planner at Jenky HQ at Clifton as do the Stobart Biomass fleet. Any of their own account work is animal FEED! from BOCM at Penrith.
What CG does know about ■■■■■■■■ hauliers, past and present, can be written on the back of a secondclass stamp, and what he dosen’t know about them, well,he just meks it up eh! You can’t keep a good Marra down! If only he’d check his facts thoroughly first but I suppose it would make for a very dull thread if he did eh! Cheers Bewick.
