Is that your “spotters chair” in front of the Thompsons Scania,or are you a"director" now.!!! :open_mouth:

Hello everyone
Since its take the p*** out of ■■■■■■■■ Gill year I better explain
No, the chair isn’t mine. It belonged to the daughter of the driver of the Thompsons Lorry, who was proudly sitting in it before I left the Kirkbride Truck Show in 2009 (where the photo was taken).
No, I’m not a director of Thompsons (yet :frowning: )
v7victor, I haven’t got a driving job as of yet and actually I have that model in my collection of 100 Eddie Stobart Lorries
truckfing, the model of the van is an exact replica of a Eddie Stobart Fleet Support van form the 1990/00’s which happened to be based at Carlisle
Bewick, give it a rest marra, please
Kindest regards

Not a chance “CG”,you had to have a last word when you should have just left it alone.Anyhow, why am I being “singled out” when quite patently there are others that find your posts just as comical as me !!Maybe your Marra "D the R"will have a word with the others, one at a time mebe. But then again that course of action might only stir them into posting even more funnier comments peep, peep Bewick.

v7victor:
“Chargs” is this spot the deliberate mistake Dennis :astonished:

I can’t help it Vic if I’m as thick as Pig ■■■■ and can’t spell !! I always had a typist/secretary for my letters so she knew what “the thick ■■■■■ meant, long before spell check came out eh! Cheers Dennis.

This is a spotters chair in Finland. I was standing in this spot nearly every day and several people stopped to ask what I was doing (I think). I had a laminated card that I had prepared on google translate with an explanation on it and when they had read that they nodded and carried on. After the first weekend when I went back this chair had appeared.

Good idea that David, the laminated card.We get a few strange looks when we are taking lorry photo’s.Its OK when we are in my older van because its got a lot of rubbish bling on it.Most of the hauliers in the area know me,but if a stranger comes through and see someone taking pictures its bound to make them suspicious.
Cheers Dave.

At least you can explain when somebody speak’s English Dave. I think this counts as a ■■■■■■■■ tipper. P.D. Willacy operated from Sandside as far as I know.

Fair point that David.I wouldn’t have a clue what you had to translate for the Finnish drivers.
Cheers Dave.

I just wrote a statement in Google Translate and then asked for the Finnish and Russian versions which I printed and laminated. It seemed to work. Most signs at company gates were in English, Finnish and Russian.

I would be no good at foreign languages.I can’t get our own language right half the time.My youngest sister is a modern language teacher, but I just messed around at school.
Cheers Dave.

Its nice to see some of the older ones still running about
Kindest regards

I don’t think it will still be running CG. As far as I know it was replaced by an FM and then Mr Willlacy packed tipper work in. That picture was taken in the early 90s.

Heyup we are off again!!!

I live not far from Willacy’s, I have to confirm I haven’t seen an artic of there’s for many a year. They’ve had a 4 wheeler merc for a while. but I think they’ve gone more into builders merchants than hauliers these days.#

I’m 22, btw.

Hello truckfing
Thats ok but what an excelent photo of Saunders!
Thankyou again and Good Luck with the slide show
Kindest regards
CG

The Saunders was taken on Anderton Services on the M61. I have had a quick look but all I can find today is half a picture of a PD Willacy Seddon Atki. I do also have a slide of this so it is not a total disaster. It was a poor picture anyway. The SA was a Joe Shepherd originally, F999RCK I think.
