The Bah Humbug Club!

I like Christmas. I’ll post a photo of my Christmas tree when I erect it in early December and hope to give some joy to you miserable…

In the meantime, here’s last year’s!

Come on, get with the season of peace and good will to all men!

Yes, I’m aware that our lounge looks like something out of the seventies, but we don’t care about that.

John.

For someone out of the40s the 70s look is quite modern . I’m still sticking to being a miserable old sod though , as a founder member i have a reputation to consider . Dave

You have to admit that my 50th birthday present, the Layzeeboy chair left of centre, still looks good 18 years later and it does have a lovely smile!

I’m not some miserable old sodd (not saying you fine gent’s are…) but the thing I really can’t stand is that whole false sentiment about being nice to one another and peace on earth…[zb] that, so it is allright to smash someone’s head in the rest of the year then?

And about writing those cards, who’s idea was that? For [zb] sake… and then they call me old fashioned because I still actually write letters…

My word, what a relief to get this of me chest

Cheers, Patrick

Go for it Patrick…all of us are miserable sods on here! In fact I was called a fat horrible barsteward this morning by my Wife, nothing wrong with her judgement or eyesight

Well that’s a relief to be along like minded men Pete
But what did you do to upset the missus then? Or is that the usual greeting you get

Just being myself Patrick, I think she quite likes me in her own way!

By heck pete , keep your head down your right in dan’s neighbourhood there , you’ll probably have him knocking on the door for a cup of sugar if he reads this .

You will be fine I think Pete, Dan will probably be housebound in about 6 feet of snow on that mountain he lives on ! I’m on just half a mountain on t’other side of the valley!

Pete.

I’m always well prepared if it snows, case of Stella, bottle single malt and 60 ■■■■. Always got a spare lighter as well to set fire to the company car to keep warm! Pete/Dave, Are your area’s of the PD classed as the posh bits?

Now then pete , I live in the select part of the peak where water costs more than petrol . We tend to look down on the poor people who live in the more common areas further south , but i suppose someone has to live there . I don’t reckon Pete Windrush could cope with the rarified air up here or the cold in winter anyway . Do be careful though , Wirksworth folks chuck spears at you if you upset them , bit like the wild west down there . Dave

So what you are saying Dave it’s not a select area Wirksworth so you don’t need to get out of shower for a ■■■■■ then?

Shower ? I didn’t know they had running water down there , just check if there’s a tin bath hung beside the back door .

Tomorrow we are off to a cottage on the Lancashire moor’s above Darwen for a week where hopefully the weather will be a tad warmer than it is here in Matlock today. Internet is very ‘iffy’ there though so I may not be posting for a while. To be honest I’ve never found the air around Buxton to be rarified, there always seems to be a good supply of ‘Hot Air’ in the area! Dave’s right about the poor people living in the south of the county though, we certainly couldn’t afford a property around the Fairfield/Doveholes/Buxton/Hathersage area where half a million quid only buys you a glorified garden shed! :open_mouth:

Oh and Pete mentioned having a company car Dave!!! :open_mouth: Don’t tell me that he is still out there working for a living, I assumed that he was just a poor pensioner like thee and me?

Pete.

Pete,

Keep it up pete , we need you workers to pay towards our pensions , small though they are . I see that pete windrush has sold the family silver to go off on a jolly up yorkshire so at least you won’t have to buy his dinner.
