To elegant victorian arcitecture
so damaging there’s nothing left
but a burnt bottom lip
and scrap for export
to China to be recycled
and returned as washing machines
or for rusty Scania lorries
wrapped in green/red vinyl
and drivers dressed in green
wellies and souwester rain hats
cos the summer has arrived!
When the rain gets warmer
and then it gets humid
and wellingtons become walking microwaves
cooking the spuds growing in
the insides , alongside leeks (sic) 
between the toes on each
sweaty size 12 broad feet
which are small these days
due to fertilizer being expensive
