That will be tipping molton sulphur at Inios at Staveley, If I had a pound for every sulphur load I tipped there I could do the world cruise! Ran there with Hoyer from Exxon (Esso @ Fawley) right up to closure in Feb 2007 after that we ran to Runcorn and later to a couple of plants in France. :sunglasses:

I’m a bit bothered about copyright here but it would be a shame not to show it.

I was going in Staveley Chemicals in 1970 onwards,it was a really busy place,24/7. When I went back in for a few months in 1994 a lot of the old buildings had gone and the SCL motors were in Rhone-Poulenc livery and I think Suttons ran the transport then.Apart from that, not a lot had changed, the Vinatex site had long gone though.

This was the BTC plant…

And then they started to dismantle it…

A shame it had to go as it employed a lot of people.

i was tipping there 2006 and not much left of it. still have my old rhodia permit somewhere. i remember there was a black edition actros parked up there evry time i went in

A few from Staveley in the late 60s

Vinatex in the distance

And a few of the BTC plant, just built in 67/68
