Filling up 2000ltrs+ into three tanks gets me a 15 easily.
If the wheels aint turnin it aint earnin.
So you’re one of these drivers who looks on breaks as something you ‘have to get in’ then eh?
Don’t know why…, I mean it isn’t that they are there for our benefit or anything is it.
I’m guilty of booking a ‘tacho break’ if tipping or something, but I also sure as hell make sure I have a ‘proper break’ down the line when it suits me.
My priority is not getting tired or stressed, not what or when the truck is earning.

“have to get in” not really. Tired or stressed nope not that either. Just always have somewhere to be. Nor does it effect anyone, itll only come out the nozzle so fast.
I like proper breaks to, but im there to deliver what iv loaded as efficiently as possible. Thats my priority.

We all have ‘somewhere to be’ mate, and deliver what we’ve loaded that’s part of the job,
Breaks are there for your own good, it’s one of the very few things in this job left that are.
If your definition of delivering efficiently is working during your breaks, then like it or not or excuse it as you wish, you aint doing it rightly or professionally not to mention legally.
If it needs to be done then time to look for another job I reckon.
You can get a 45 in easily on any of those services on the M5 n/b on a weekend, when all the hooray Henry`s are filling up their sproggs….The queue @ Sedgemoor can be a joke, but It can work in your favour if you are on a flyer
That is with two tanks and a ■■■■, nothing else honest

In one of the most tightly regulated industries going imo, i like to think i run legal 99% of the time. And i can almost guarentee that everyone tries to pinch that small little bit that is available left to “take”.
That starts from letting it over run going down hills, or stealing breaks on pumps while filling up or whatever. Blah blah blah. Call it what you want, i dont effect anyone in what i do, I offer a service, people pay for it, i work hard for it and ■■■■■■■■ i enjoy the work i do.
Not many people getting stuff into spain within 21 hrs.

The ones that ■■■■ me off, are the ones who take a break on a pump & don’t even use it
Had one of them a few weeks ago. Sat behind him for 8 minutes and when I went to find out what was going on (although I already suspected) he just said “im leaving in 4 minutes” and didnt give a flying ■■■■ about anyone else needing to get diesel.
Unless he fuelled up and paid in 3 minutes, he’d basically just parked at the pumps to take his break because he was either too lazy to walk from the parking area or didnt want to spend his break time walking there and back so decided stuff everyone else

Yeh ok, cheers for that mate, It’s called… ‘‘Having an opinion on a subject and discussing it’’…ie A FORUM.
But hey,.thanks for your valuable contribution to the debate .
Yeh smart answer bud.
But maybe instead you could try and point out to me which part of what I said about taking proper breaks being important, and prioritising them over rushing your arse off to get tipped was wrong eh?..with me being Mr Know F. All and all that.
(Just noticed your username, maybe that says it all. )
Or do you not have any opinions to contribute, but rather prefer to rubbish other’s opinions and indulge in immature name calling instead.
Hmmmm, now who does that remind me of?

A new fan ? …or an alias.
Trouble is, the whole place is full of cretins like him, but here we are, responding instead of ignoring the prat. As you say, the name says it all.

Imagine the fun if DVSA started banging in £300 raffle tickets for infringements due to illegal tacho breaks .
I am lucky that I have never been that desperate to have to take my breaks on pumps or similar.
