It looks like two threads have been merged, Iām guessing that Lee1976 started a new thread without realising that there was already a thread about the subject, hence the change in the subject title.

Same thread as the hi viz one
that had to hurt
We were shown a similar video at our driver CPC training last week, a (now former) driver with the company was trying to unload a pallet and the wheels seemed to get stuck on the edge between the floor and tail-lift as he pulled it over to turn it round. So his solution was to pull the pump truck from the ground level (with the flaps down) - with inevitable consequences.
He was very lucky to have ducked out the way as the whole lot came down on where he had been standing.
That video was from a CCTV camera from a property across the road from where he was delivering to, so it may have made it onto YouTube as well.
When I did Palletforce deliveries, we would often let the wheels of the pallet truck go over the edge before lowering it. This was a lot easier and safer than turning it on the platform. Of course these were 48" UK pallets and not top heavy. It did look pretty alarming to any onlookers though.
It often used to amaze me how people would stand at the back of a truck as I rolled towards them with a 1000kg pallet.
Most of our vehicles have column tail lifts (that are meant for cages or euros) and I find the easiest way to unload a UK pallet is to turn it and push it on wide ways, then pull the truck out and put it next to the pallet (with the wheels over the edge) to take it down.
Unbelievably Iāve seen it done. It was a pallet of rock salt and delivering to a school. Pallet weighed about 1.2 ton and the muppet co driver thought he could stop it when it started to slide.
We all said after he should have let go. But he didnāt.
