Tacho card

I’m still getting a fault code on my print outs for something I did back in June. Not sure what it is to be honest, it gives the registration of the truck I was in, a symbol and some numbers along with the date.

the maoster:
That’s very true for the likes of yourself Wildfire who uses the same truck day in day out, but cab hoppers have a get out of jail free card as the chances of them getting checked whilst in the same vehicle they were “naughty” in diminishes.

No they don’t. The information is still stored in the digital tacho until its downloaded to a computer. The chances are exactly the same as they are for a driver who only has one vehicle.

I got stuck in a major tailback on the M40 last year, a 6 hour jobby. I pulled into a layby on the A40 for a break and got talking to another driver who had an hour left (driving time) to make it to Maidenhead then Milton Keynes.

I’ll just yank my card and crack on with it, was his response. I tried explaining that information is still recorded onto the digi unit and if someone drives the vehicle for an hour with no card in it’ll take the company or the VOSA all of 5 minutes to find out who pulled their card last but he didn’t care and did it anyway.

Yes, they will stay on there and I believe it keeps the last five events on there and after that, it gets overwritten.
