Here’s a nice little aside, Lucy. Almost twenty years ago I had a lorry fire on long-haul work and lost all my kit. To cut a long story short, I claimed on my house insurance for the losses above the £200 covered by the haulier’s insurance. An insurance assessor was sent round to my house. When she remained unconvinced of my perfectly legitimate claim, I simply produced one of T&D’s fantastic double-page spread photos from a ‘night out’ cab test. It did the trick! Yeah!! Robert
That’s brilliant! Love it! In fact, will be using it!

I’m changing jobs at the end of the week, so if you can hang on until then I’ll do you a list of all the useless stuff that I’ve accumulated in the last 6 months - I’m sure there’ll be a bit!
Bugger, gonna be just too late! Can you not do a “pre-packing preliminary recce” for me tomorrow? Pleeeaaassseee!

Ah, gwan then! I do know that ■■■ lighter - USB charger things will feature highly - do these things breed when left alone? I’ve got more than eBay ffs, and I’m sure I’ve only ever bought a couple…
Right, here’s my tally so far:
6 USB / ■■■ light charger thingies.
1 iPhone charger lead - haven’t had an iPhone for a year, and changed jobs twice in that time.
Loads of bottles of polish etc.
Lots of paracetamol etc - every time I get a slight sniffle, widely packs another load in my bag.
Some dead aa batteries, but nothing in the truck which uses them.
Blank CMR firms from the last but one company.
3 packs of cable ties - always useful, but where did they all come from?
2 cb mic clips
1 broken wheel chock.
2 damaged wheel rings - they just turned up in the locker one day!
And a pack of 1/2 inch olives - a pressure from my dad, from when he used to have to repair airlines rather than replace them. Haven’t got the heart to throw them away
Don’t do nights out but had a look in the N/S outside locker when I finished there was a broken Anderson lead a set of jump leads a can of WD 40 a copy of private eye from 2013 some cable ties 3 wheel studs with nuts a rear number plate reading k536rkh which must have met the gas axe or been exported 10 years ago and a king ■■■■ spanner that looks like it come from the tool kit of a 1953 AEC
Found my harmonica and a few puzzle books tucked away as well, all part of my master plan to keep my brain active. Hasn’t really worked
Lost my tea spoon though, but have recorded it as a defect and refused to take the unit out until it is either found or replaced, seems fair enough to me
