Perhaps some guys fly about because they have to, not because they want to?
Who says they have to?
More fool them (unless they drive fire engines

Hatred towards supermarket drivers can only come from the fact they are usually on more money than most of us, for an easier stress free job.Hats off to them.
If you get behind them on s/c’s tailgating and flashing your lights etc. just because they are driving legally, then your a [zb]. Period. They are usually having their speeds monitoried, they are hardly going to risk the cushy gig they have just to satisfy the morons wanting to tear arse about for £7.50 (or less) an hour behind them.
Perharps some guys fly about because they have to, not because they want to?
Why would you want a job where you have to fly about?
Without supermarket drivers, you’d have nothing in your local Asda,Tesco etc. Seen some deliveries being carried out at silly o clock at my local Asda and thought “rather you than me”,but i’ve got nothing against them. They’re just doing a days work the same as everyone else on here.
dont hate them but i do object to them sitting at 10 - 20 MPH below the speed limit. there are a few asda and morrisons drivers sitting at 40 on dual carriageways and motorways now. not one of them has a fuel figure that isnt easily achievable without dropping below 50 on these roads. if you are struggling then its your driving style, not your speed that is the problem

Oh i agree, i use to stick to 40 on singles without question but then got my second job and they started giving me a real hard time for driving “slow”, use to get all manner of abuse for it even after i did start driving at 55 on singles, but the point is i needed the job to get some experience and they wernt scared at all of sacking people so had to get on with it.

If any firm expected me to drive at 55mph in a 40mph zone to meet deadlines etc. I’d want it in writing, signed by the TM and Gaffer. And it would go straight to the plod and VOSA…
I paid for my licence and I ain’t having it removed because of a ■■■■ that thinks his company is above the law.
I’ve asked for it in writing when I’m “not going fast enough” and no such correspondance emerged…
A well known (or rather infamous) tipper firm sacked a new driver because “40 was no good to them”; He accepted it and then prepared a nice letter to either VOSA or the TC. He didn’t send it but did get a farewell gift from his ex employer.
I’d do the same, except I’d post the letter

depends on the traffic. it gets tricky at busy stretches when you are running loaded. places like coatbridge are busy for most of the day. or running uphill with a loaded trailer

And thats why i left, constant tipping on break, running flat out everywhere, going over time to get back or not to be late, regular abuse down the phone or in the office, agruments in the yard were an almost daily occurance and the final straw was when i had them shouting at me down the phone telling me to put the phone to my ear (was on loudspeaker)… 5mins later i pulled over called a company i was told about by a mate, a week later i was off.
I cannot wait to be stuck behind one to know what you lot are on about lol

You not driving then?
To be fair not many lorries do less than 50, what annoys though is when someone does 45, your still gonna get points and a fine!
I am driving a van at the moment but will be in a truck from next week starting a new job. In the van i just over take them lol
