Stuck between a rock and a hard place

Or try honesty, it’s worked for me, never had to lie to get a job even without experience, just go and talk to the people face to face, they then don’t expect you to be something you’re not.

I was even honest with one employer that I was sacked from a previous job for getting into an altercation with another member of staff and he took me on.

I agree and normally honesty is the best policy. Most liars eventually get caught out.

I did the same as you 7 years ago. Small companies, especially farm type operations are often looking for relief or seasonal help. My mate was working for a little family farm business. He’s asked if I could go out for a day and have a bit of a refresher. They had no problems with that. I did that day ( for free obvs) then next day they asked me if I would do a run for them. The rest is history. Trucks are so easy now anyway anyone can drive them.
