That’s right.They came originally from Old,between Northampton and Kettering.They are now based at the side of the A14 at Kettering.
The expression was I think taken from the poem,“In days of old,when knights were bold”.

In reply to hitch I think that Atchison Topeka are the follow on from Santa Fe Haulage from the Cheltenham area (think of the song from the film “Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad”.) I see lots of their wagons (usually tanks) going up and down the M5 when i am on my usual run from Weston-super-Mare to Bridgwater via M5. I seem to remember another thread on here about them.

There used to be a ‘Geo E Gittus’ in and out of British Sugar at BSE several years ago, always thought that was a bit strange. After a quick look on Google they’re still farming in the area. ‘Fly By Night’ also seems a strange name for a transport company, maybe it’s a bit tongue-in-cheek.
