Fiona gets a brand new trailer with no useful information and worse than that no Anderson Lead so when another driver gives her one, it is too zb short and she complains!
Even after following the risk assessment sheet, numbnuts the goods in bod tells her to reverse in, then tells her to drive out and drive back in. she caused havoc on a filling station forecourt, but none of it was her fault.
She split-coupled that Urban trailer… I thought every company had banned that practice these days■■?
She normally drives a proper fridge and she didn’t have any grease on her Hiviz
why should she have grease on here high viz,i dont,its once in a blue moon you change tris,turn up for work its all connected up,loaded,99.9% of the time if your loading its live loaded

unless fiona put one in herself at widness then there wouldnt of been one in there,as i say only one of our trucks carries one and thats the d/d ,as for working a taillift i doubt she does,a.f.a.i.a she passed her test to drive horse boxes,this is her first hgv1 job,so seeing as none of our fridges at our depot have had taillifts since shes started i doubt shes ever used one/would know how to use one,but its still no excuse,she should of checked tri over at widness ,spotted tailift and if she couldnt work it out for herself ASKED someone to show her the ropes quick
What I meant by that was that I thought the whole thing was staged for the tv. Thanks for the insight about the tip/reload at widnes. I was confused as to why they would drag someone up there just to do a local multidrop.

your right in away that it was staged for t.v as fiona is normally a 4/5 a.m starter,that job is a midnight ish job as far as im aware,so normally she wouldnt be doing it,one of the silly oclock lads would of been on it,but there not quite as good looking as her .
youre also right in the sense i doubt if it wasnt being filmed by the cammeras that shed of got away with just sitting around waiting for lead to turn up,she would of had to get in back and get her hands dirty.
the last bit of here heading off to nwk bob-tail giving the impression of running 100,s of miles empty wasnt in my opinion right either,that wouldnt of happened,shed of had to pick something up,or serious questions would of been asked,a while ago it would of no doubt happened,but very rarely do you run 100,s of miles empty.
as i say the job wasnt staged,its what they require you to do these days,a+b in a lot of cases with 6 hrs kip in the middles gone,its now a+b+c+d+g+h etcetc,your not chased around like the impression they like to give you on the t.v ,but they like to keep those wheels moving,the rest of it being staged your probally right

If there gonna start belting everyone who comes across as stupid on this they best ask for an Interview with Tinkler and Stobart.
Tinkler only seems concerned about his plane and airport and Wiliam Stobart seems to be just mooching around.
They also get to see it before it goes out.
They only seem concerned about how much Stobart tat they can shift onto the spotters.
The whole firm seems to come across as poor from top to bottom.

ive run empty from nwk-kendal[to collect a load to find out theres no collection on a saturday] then back to nwk empty,x2 as my mate did the same journey ,if i remember right it was 700+ empty between us,but that was when they didnt have there gts system up and running[old system was used] ,they can now see not just at our depot what a trucks doing,they can see it allover at the touch of a button,there now not keen on running us a mile more empty than they have to.reports flag up,questions get asked.
but your right in the past theyd run us alover empty,criminal,but not now,i dont say it doesnt happen odd times,but very rarely am i now running empty

She said she was going back to Widnes to pick up her trailer before she goes back to Newark. She only ran back to Widnes bobtail.
must admit mike i only caught bits of it,i wondered what happened to her fridge she tipped at widness ,so she picked it up,id put my money on it shed of then collect something on way back

Sorry forgot to say athe lads i know who were taken over from Irlams when Stobarts bought them out say things on nights haven’t improved!!!
i cant really speak for general as i rarely do it,but my job[chilled] is a world apart from the job it was,its still a very easy job,your not chased around,but the days of 5/6/7 hrs in the bunk are 99% gone,you still get the odd day,but it is a odd day,the days of ringing in and being told to run it back empty [100,s] of miles are now again very rare,theyll find you something somewhere to bring back to the yard with you.
we said there gts system would never work on chilled but i must admit its not a million miles off being spot on[well for them,i miss my 6 hrs kip ],as i say i can only speak of the job i do/know,if theres nights/general saying its crap then im in no position to argue as dont do that work very often

If I remember they showed a map of her doing the drops and then heading straight back to Newark.
I thought they ran her to Widnes because the job was cut short.
Maybe it is all made up for the cameras? Or maybe you shouldn’t listen to the voice over man? I do believe some people here have sussed out that it’s a crock of ■■■■, but I also worry that some people (who are in charge of big wagons) think that it is a high brow documentary.
Must admit I enjoy reading some “peoples” posts who “never watch” the “program”, but seem to know everything that “happens” in each “episode” of the “fast Eddie” series.
Whether it was staged or not, her feet wouldn’t have touched if she had a tesco uniform on. A mate of mine was suspended at harlow for not signing his defect sheet. She obviously didn’t do her checks or read the risk assessments. Did you see her pull up at the store and say she was gonna just drive in. Pretty stupid not to do the job properly if you are on unfamiliar ground
As for the back door merchant at the esso store… those lazy gits don’t care about risk assessments. Just as long as they don’t have to push 20ft. I can just imagine the store manager shouting at him to tell her to do it correct as the cameras were there
