You have to ask why was Fiona drafted in to do that job did none of the drivers at the depot want to be involved as they know the slagging off they get on forums like this or we’re they not seen to fit the stobart image built up by the program.
Surlely any company who drafted in a non regular driver to be filmed for tv to do a job would make sure they were trained up and had all the kit to do the job rather than look stupid. I know if I was one of the chuckle brothers that order would have been first on the list.
I have to say I’m a little suprised the Stobart empire actually perceive this series as good publicity. I concur that in terms of perception from a fanbase then I’m sure they love everything they see and believe the majority of the drivel that is spouted by the narrator. However if any potential customers or exisiting competitors are watching then surely it doesn’t do them any favours. The “anderson lead” saga was beyound belief and I’m sure the Tesco contract manager was crying in his Friday evening takeaway watching that level of incompetence. It continues to make me wonder whether William and Andrew genuinely think that this is a good image building excercise or advertising at its lowest level. If I was a potential customer I might be well aware that the majority of transport companies couldn’t plan for toffees but I might not want to contract a firm to work for me that are happy to demonstrate that level of incompetence to all my potential customers?
I can’t believe that 404 posts later it is still being debated as if it was a serious documentary.
The only thing it’s got going for it is it’s comedic value. The characters are funny as ■■■■■ Stobart and tinkler are so wooden in their cameo roles they are hilarious. Mark Dixon should get his own spin off series, something like tool in a tractor unit.
Friday night telly isn’t the best, but this programme makes it almost worthwhile turning the tv on. It is the funniest thing on tv. It’s the best comedy I have ever seen

It’s not theirs anymore,
This is our England now.
Paaaaarrrrrrttttttttyyyyyyyy
I think I may have mentioned before somewhere on here that the first series of this cack was a follow up to another series,( shown only on local tv in ■■■■■■■ as far as I know) It was billed as a showcase for Bert & Ernie to display their lifestyle, both in the business and socially, it turned out to be a PR disaster as their lavish ■■■■■■■ social life and mega expensive hobbies made them come across as a right pair of bellends, it resulted in bringing on severe stick and embarrasment to a lot of their drivers, but what made it worse they had been told that particular year, that they could not give them a pay raise, which caused a lot of bad blood also, so basically this series was brought in as a bit of damage limitation, and it seems to have worked, …However Bert & Ernie do still come across as bellends
I am ashamed to say that i too watch this programme and one thing that always surprises me is how close they follow the vehicle in front. I know that it can be just the angle of view but most times they are not at a safe distance.
Also the "get there as fast as you can"attitude. Judging by the other trucks they overtake they are always breaking the 50mph speed limit on dual track A roads.
Bunch of Cowboys.
Should be called Stobart Cowboys and Indians

fiona wasnt drafted in to do the job,she was just doing a normal run
load-nwk
tip- widness
load-widness
tip-bolton[think that was place]
load-ring nwk to ask for a reload/collection
tip-newark
obviously it didnt go to plan, but thats the run she should of done,in the past you would of done
load/nwk
tip/widness
load-ring nwk for reload/collection
tip -nwk
but they dont want the trucks standing for hours inbetween tip-widness and reload for nwk,so there trying to fill gaps with shops/more rdc/2/3x old runs, all she was doing really was tipping at a stobart depot and then reloading out of there, the days of it being a nwk truck are long gone, its a stobart truck and it will pick loads up,deliver them whereever, and to be honest its dead right.

To be fair to Fiona, she did say that at the depot she usually works at, the load is palletised. I guess she has maybe not had her licence that long, and was only used to open backed trailers. You would of thought someone would of told her about the tailift connection. Anyway who put “Fiona I love you” on the trailer? It was all set up. Anyway Fiona if you are reading this thread, i support you.
just because we mostly only carry palletised goods doesnt mean we just open the back doors[and pray someone will tip it for us],we often do shops on multi drops, only did some the other day, open back doors, then handball the load off,8 pallets of chickens, you just improvise,no tail lift so handball it,always try to get pallets as close to back end as possible at previous drop,or carry a pallet truck with you,see if a couple of lads from shop will jump up in tri and give you a hand, fiona has been doing the job a bit now, should know the score,so whilst waiting for the lead should of got stuck in and handballed some of it off.
there again we wouldnt want here to break a finger nail

The lead was in the side locker, Fiona probably knows how to work a tail lift but it just had to be hyped for the cameras. Anyway I’d still bang her so chin up Fiona lol.
unless fiona put one in herself at widness then there wouldnt of been one in there,as i say only one of our trucks carries one and thats the d/d ,as for working a taillift i doubt she does,a.f.a.i.a she passed her test to drive horse boxes, this is her first hgv1 job,so seeing as none of our fridges at our depot have had taillifts since shes started i doubt shes ever used one/would know how to use one,but its still no excuse, she should of checked tri over at widness ,spotted tailift and if she couldnt work it out for herself ASKED someone to show her the ropes quick
