Stobart assement

Fairy snuff mate. It was more of a personal observation really. Must add though that while I’m no Stobby fanboy I’m certainly not a hater either. Ambivalence best describes it.

Well I think it says a lot when trampers like myself who can get a job at most places chooses them. Some of the lads I am with in the Hotel are a great bunch too. Experienced men who can also go anywhere who keep returning. We have had a good laugh tonight and one of them came straight up to me and said “UKT I presume” I was taken back at this and got ready for him to throw the first punch. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Are you stobart PR Guy or what ?Come on fees up

True Andrew,

So Dozy post all of your payslip to give us all the info we need. And your bank details please.

AndrewG:
Do Stobarts name the trucks or the driver? Unusual to have a choice of truck as well, most outfits will just give you whatevers spare. At least with a new one its not necessary to have to disinfect it and scrape the cr@p out of it first…

no I think anyone can apply for Lorry to be named as they wish , never had a choice of trucks just whatever they want you to use ,

So what’s it like to be employed by the Ryanair type juggernaut, did you have to pay for your very sick looking green uniform, and how much did they charge you to be let do the assessment
Do you get paid for the two days and who pays for meals
Please tell me that Stobart is paying for everything

I assume you mean £792 , that is mom- fri , tramping , 4 nights out , 65 .75 hrs , £875 is min- fri, tramping , 3 nights out , 54.25 hrs + 1 days hol ( 14.50 hrs of 54.25 hrs is paid at b/ h rate )
If I wanted to I could grab every hour , extra shifts , not go home for night and earn more but I’m one of eaggerbeavers pet hates , 56 yr old who’s done his time in the trenches , nice house paid for , newish cars paid for , hols when I want , Mrs earns more than I do , savings .
That’s the problem I’m fine , but all these folks on here get so upset about the wages and me working for them ,where it’s alright for me , don’t think much of 1 st 10 days of sick paid at ssp but it’s not the end of the world , we still booked 2 weeks in gram canaria this week :unamused:
Anyway back at madhouse next week so off to make of what time I’ve left

These tops are a lot better than green shirts uk tramp , I wear them all the time

He’s already told us where he lives, think I might go open up a bank account. Just out of interest, is “Dozy” your Christian or Surname?

Does Eddie pay wages weekly?

ItsJoe:
Does Eddie pay wages weekly?

Fortnightly. And it’s great.

You can buy a house, get a missus who earns more than you (not difficult), and if you play your cards right you can go to Spain for a fortnight.

Dozy to stop all the stoopid answers and assumptions, put a picture of a COMPLETE pay slip up, just blank out your name, ni number, and any other PERSONAL information, (use a black marker pen) but leave all of the relevant money sums visable.

So they have two dozys working for them now the first one don’t act the thick anymore but the second one is making up for both of them

UKT one month later

You know what UKt, you’ve quite surprised me on this. :open_mouth:
I always had you down as being a bit like myself…ie. done a bit, don’t suffer d/heads lightly, cynical in the sense that you can slice right through bull [zb] that is attempted to be fed to you at a glance, not take stuff at face value but see the real picture through all the crap, and all the rest of it that comes with experience in this game.
If it were me in your position.(not a chance in hell btw  ) I would be waiting a couple of months to get some first hand experience before I came on here trying to convince everybody that Stobbies was Transport Utopia, you come across as if you have swallowed all the official corporate crap that has been fed to you :open_mouth: …as I said I’m surprised.

rob, I am probably more surprised than you are tbh. I have done a bit of homework on this outfit and they do not hassle you like a lot of firms do. Now here is a funny thing, I got home tonight and after only half an hour of being home my phone rang, it was one of the managers at Appleton and he was ringing me to ensure I made it home alright, and thanked me for joining them. Now I have been around the block a few times rob and I don’t take crap or anyone trying it on with me, too experienced for that, but I may well do as you say in 12 months explaining on here why I have left. I somehow suspect I am going to like the job and the firm, if I don’t then I will hold my hands up, I am impressed so far with how I have been treat and equally the hospitality they have given to us on the course, with meals and yes even beer on the night time. It is a refreshing change and all I can say is so far so good.

Sat in my Premier inn tonight just staring at this… I cannot believe I have joined this outfit, I am glad I did as the full outfits that they give you is incredible. The amount of money spent puts a lot of firms to shame.

You don’t have to wear that , I wear orange high viz top , trousers & yellow high viz jacket , keep your eye out for me you’ll not miss me

I will keep an eye out for you dozy, did stobart supply the orange high viz or is it your own?

Well I am here in Appleton at the moment on my two day induction, everything makes perfect sense to me now, I am tramping out of Sherburn. I am with 7 experienced trampers on this induction and I have been drinking with them tonight in the hotel bar. Good lads and no way these guys are fools. They have worked for Stobart before and 1 of them only left two weeks ago and is back already. I am happy with what I have been told today both on the induction by the staff and also by these Stobart trampers. It confirms what Dozy has posted. The people who knock Stobart so much are usually the ones who have never worked for them. They are not idiots but there are some idiots with the agency. Well so far so good for me, I have my elf uniform and am wearing it with pride.

UKT,
In the above quote you mentioned you’re with a lad that jacked Stobarts 2 weeks ago and he has to sit through another 2 day induction?

That is correct, even the trainers thought it was ridiculous. Two nights all expenses paid in a hotel and meals, + 10 hrs pay per day he wasn’t complaining.

UKtramp:
Two nights all expenses paid

I’ll bet…

They didn’t pay for drinks.

So, not exactly all expenses paid.

I’ll just leave this here…
