yeah mate I can see your point you have probably like most on here see the demise of the workers and wages.
The thing that worries me is the kids, what are we going to leave them and if we don’t take on the greedy, then they will have no lead to follow.
I was shown by other older men how to take them on and sometimes win,I can only thank those men who have now retired or are sadly no longer with us.
So with in a generation things have changed in the work place.
For those who are apparently “with spine” what have YOU done to make a change?
Let’s see some examples as there seems to be a lot of u internet warrior types posting criticising other,so come on tell the story that got you a spine…

What about those who are happy with their lot… Why would they want to ‘make a change’ or get involved with anyone who does? Experience suggests that in any job the big-mouthed moaners are best given a very wide berth.
Those with a spine as you put it may just have employed the tactic of moving on until they find something that suits.

Well, I was working for a company, expected to do a minimum of 13 hours a day, regardless of him much work there was or wasn’t on the table, drove an old lorry, doing tilts, curtains, self tips, rdc waiting rooms, had bosses on my case about wtd etc, did a minimum of 3000 ks a week, max 90 hrs a fortnight. I had enough of it, so got on a cushy little container job, with less hours, less ks, less driving, less nights out, less graft, no lay bys, brand new motor with no stress and all for the same money. That’s what I did to make a change

That’s the whole point mate, it’s already been covered and established that there is no ‘union’ between drivers or solidarity, so unfortunately it’s got to a look after number 1 situation. (Unless of course you are happy and work for a good firm that looks after you as I have in the past, so you are willing to go that extra mile no question)
Otherwise you either
A.bend over and take it, end of.
or B.you speak up and attempt to make things better for yourself ( as I did) and watch the others bend over.
or C. you do as Jay did tell em to shove it and go elsewhere.
If that makes me or the others internet warriors in your eyes I couldn’t give a ■■■■.
I’m not anti union, I’d join one if I worked somewhere that had one, just don’t see any benefits, other than legal advice etc, to be a lone member within a non recognised company. A bit like whispering in a bar

As a 17 year old still under an apprentice contract that didn’t allow taking part in industrial action I was told by management to take the works van and bring in some sub contract components through the picket line during a strike at the firm. When I got back I stopped at the picket line opened the doors and told them what the management had told me to do and that I’d happily turn around and take the stuff back even if it meant losing my job.Bearing in mind this was ‘supposedly’ the ‘militant’ 1970’s they said no problem take it all through because it won’t get used until we decide to go back anyway and thanks for stopping and telling us.
Then my guvnor also thanked me for knowing which side I was on.
