Didn’t a certain poster try this one on before and get banned for it in the end?

Does it really matter hitch   We are truck drivers after all mate…not english teachers :open_mouth:

Nope, doesn’t matter…

but i still prefer the UK spellings. Call it a comfort zone if you must.

Seeing American spellings just weirds me out sometimes. I mean thruout - whats with that?!

LOL thats not proper spelling, UK or US… just laziness… originated with the new computer lingo I believe. That just brings up an entire new problem with spelling, doesnt it. All these cyber spellings drive me crazy!

OIC (Oh I see), RU (are you), 4U (for you), CU L8R ( see you later)… crap like this takes me 3 times longer to read something… why be so lazy■■? If people learned to type, they wouldn’t feel the need to use these aggrevating abbreviatioins!

I think a lot of this type of spelling is down to text messaging as well

The Americans should label the language American, and be done with it, since it’s not English anymore.

sorry nothing to do with the thread…but i just spotted daves signature “i hated going to weddings. all the grandma,s would poke me and say “your next”.
they stopped doing that when i started doing it to them at funerals.”

You aren’t very observant, are ya wayne??

Even the government promotes bad spelling. Here in New York, there are signs which read “No turn on red, 8am-4pm Monday thru Friday”

Text messaging. Different language. Hate it - hate predictive text messaging even more. If I could work out how to turn it off, I would. For now, I’d sooner make a 'phone call  .

If it’s a Nokia, either press the bottom right button a few times until the underscore disappears or if that fails, hold it down until it goes. Took me ages to figure it out. My g/f can type a story on her Nokia in seconds using the progressive typing thing but I just can’t figure it.

If it’s a Motorola, I have no idea and would like to know that answer myself :grimacing:

or lib go into the text message settings menu and turn off the t9 dictionary every phone that has the predictive text will have a t9 dictionary on it this will turn off predictive text completely. then you only have to swap between capital letters and small letters

I don’t see the problem   . I can make sense of the posts in question. Some people aren’t as gifted as others when it comes to spelling, punctuation and grammar. It’s no big deal surely  .

Eggsactly.
