That’s a ridiculous comment to make, you get allsorts going on in 30 zones, they run through high streets, housing estates, pedestrians everywhere, very limited visibility etc etc. A single carriageway through nothing but fields isn’t even remotely similar. It kinda shows you can’t really think for yourself so rely on being told what is right and what isn’t and what is safe and what isn’t yet fail to back it up because you actually don’t have a clue.
And before you start I do nearly always stick to the 40 limit, but only because no amount of justification will get me out of points on my licence if I get stopped rather than some blind belief that my rulers know what’s good for everyone. Personally in the right circumstances I see no issue with 56 in plenty of 40s which is why i let trucks come past if they want to go for it, it’s their choice, yes some speed in the wrong places and are a risk to others but then you can’t tell the difference between the hazards in a 30 zone and a 40 so it’s difficult to say whether your a danger to the public aswell.
