Speed camera detection devices

Legality, and usefulness to a driver who keeps speed limits aside.

Given that there are mow multiple different technologies used in speed cameras, such devices are less than optimal, given many types of camera simply can’t be detected by them.

Far better to just keep to limits than have a false sense of security.

Hello All - Going back when i owned ■■■■■■ Rs Turbo’s and Cosworth’s word had it in them day you could use a remote garage sensor to defuse/jam the speed guns, never tried it myself though

The obvious answer that will coming from the forums holier than thou brigade, is don’t speed.

Holier than now nothing.
If looking into buying a device to detect speed cameras to allow you to speed when possible is the option your looking into rather than just stick to the speed limit in the first place then I have to question whether you really should be driving in the first place
Like abs, airbags and the like,Speed camera detectors install a sense of “crack on,its ok” into lots of drivers.

they install it into me for the last 40 years sofar.cb,detectors, rear plate falling off,and front plate bent under the bumper, anythings fair game when youve hit the 2must make boat2 button and youve flicked the happy switch for the limiter. people speed, more now than ever before because trucks drive like cars and can hit 80 plus if the limiters off.its not 1960 with your 180 gardners and british built garbage anymore. people will always speed because people dont care…people will always use mobiles because people dont care.with some exceptions, speed limits are there to be ignored by me,and lots of drivers will always just drive to their opinion of whats safe or otherwise.
get onto ebay, buy the words supply of detectors, and keep er lit.buy a tazer as well and zap the plod that does you if you feel like it also.

I learned a while back DD not to bite anymore when I read your posts  , …but if you hang about a bit I’m sure you will net somebody

the fishings poor today, but is it not the truth for a lot of us?

And yet, if he’d beaten a pensioner to a pulp for £5 he would’ve got community service…but cheat the government out of their speeding revenue and you’re a heinous criminal who society needs to be protected from!

What a ■■■■■■ up country we live in!

Looked at these a few years ago, radar speed guns are pretty much gone now it’s all laser, and although these can pick up laser scatter, pretty much by the time it’s seen it the speed gun has seen you, if there’s a vehicle in front then it might pick up the scatter from it but if you come round a corner and there’s the camera pointed at you your done.

Just put a row of CDs across your dash that makes you invisible to speed detection, kind of like a stealth bomber.

I still find meself agreeing with most of robroys post’s.

You could never speed in an ERF Eaton twin splitter, by the time you got it in high gear, everyone else had parked up and gone to bed.
Dieseldog, is right, English made trucks are rubbish.

I use this website for speed camera info, www.pocketgpsworld.com,
You can load it onto most satnavs or run it on a android or Apple phone ,
I’m not to sure what they charge nowadays as I’m a free lifetime member

Morning - It’s like we all say - if their is a speed limit stick to it - it’s their for a reason

Yep, to boost the government coffers…very very occasionally there might be a safety reason but it’s the exception not the rule.

How else can you explain the sudden lowering of speed limits and installation of cameras that happened across the country as the scamera partnerships sprang up?

Do you think it would be safer to remove all speed limits and have to pay for NHS then ?

We are all pedestrians once we get out of the wagon.I as a pedestrian would rather be close to a vehicle doing about 35 mph with the driver alert and paying attention to the surrounding envirnoment.Or I could be near a vehicle going along at 30.mph with the driver watching the needle on his speedometer. In most cases the scameras are there to earn revenue.
