Spain

Well I’ve got back and I really enjoyed it. (Apart from injuring my elbow just before I set off stripping a tilt swelling up and giving me gip all week - been to hospital back home, now arm in sling and a few days off :sunglasses: . Got to thank Spardo for the list of Routiers etc. I stopped at La Belle Cantiniere near Mansle, great place, for E10.90 you get a good choice of starters from the buffet, then steak, pudding and litre of wine! The roads were mostly very good with the only hold-up been due to roadworks at Angloueme. Can’t wait to go again

No offence, but if you were born in Goole you were born to travel as far as possible. I was born in a similar sort of UK area & me & most of the people I grew up with traveled far and wide as soon as possible. Thats probably why the Brits were such great explorers , things were so dull at home…What with the weather & everything…

No offence taken Harry as I’m from York, Goole is my wife’s home town

Another good reason to travel  Glad everything went ok. The problem is the more you do it the more you get to like it . Unless ,that is , you miss Sally Trafik &" traffic building up around J10 M25 "

As mentioned above by someone
Once across the Spanish border follow the N121a towards Pamplona for the first 20 kms the road is not too good but it does get better.

Just after the turn off for Sumbilla you will see 2 restaurants on the right with a petrol station where the showers are good as is the food.

Approx 15 kms before Pamplona you will see a large restaurant on the right where several British trucks regularly stop.

When turning off of the A15 onto the N232 towards Zaragoza you will see a large hotel as you come up the slip road this is also a popular overnight stop for many drivers.

Wheel Nut:
This brings up the question of E numbers. When I was at Transalliance most of the french drivers told me to ignore any weight limits on E roads as they were illegal as they are funded by the EU.

That sounds a bit dodgy to me.
As far as I know, the E routes are simply a European route numbering system. But the roads they follow still have their national A or B road numbers (or equivalent) and the roads are still the responsibility of the country they run through. You can follow one E route all the way down from Finland, through Denmark , Germany etc all the way down to Sicily for eg. I can’t remember for certain which number it is but I think it’s the E6.

All the Autoroutes in Belgium are sign posted primarily by there E route numbers. No British Motorways have there E route number signage, but still have E route numbers. Does that mean that every Belgian Autoroute is financed by Europe, but none of the British ones are?

Again, as far as I know, the only European route financed by Europe is the A16 corridor route, only from the Belgian border to Calais docks (or is it down to the tunnel now?).
