Hello Andy. I was out in Banus last night. Bit quiet in the Navy bar. Why would you drive rather than fly ?. If you are sure that’s what you want to do, and you are going from calais reckon on about 26 to 28 hours driving time. The route welsh boy has given you is probably the quickest and cheapest. If your in a car your best bet is probably to stop for a night around Bayonne just before you cross into spain. You can get one of the cheap french hotels like Formule 1 around there. It’s a long slog in 2 shifts but i’ve done it a few times. In a truck it’s always 3 shifts. If you want to take your time and see a few things let me know and i’ll tell you which way to go, and what to look out for.

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take you in the truck from Malaga to Calais ?
Start Calais on a fresh card and you’ll be well into a 3rd one getting to Malaga.
Ross.
calais to vivonne 8 hours in a truck
vivonne to almazan 8.45
almazan to malaga 8.45
3 easy days in a truck but a car should be much quicker as i can only average about 80kph per day
you’ll have to pay from calais to abbeville then small one between rouen and evreux
next pay is tours to poitiers then just 3 small ones before border there’s 2 small tolls in navarra but thats it, i used to know how much they all cost but nowadays technology means everything is just beepbeep

Cheers for that mate, will do.
We fly over once or twice a year to visit family, and I do the usual haunts by car along the south coast.
I’ve always wanted to do the drive from Scotland and just fancy a change of scenery.
I also hate being sardined into a plane seat.

hi andy,
try the ibis hotel at anguoleme its easy to find you can see it from the n10 when your coming up to it,also has a formulae 1 hotel next door thats a bit cheaper, you can eat in the restaurant at the hotel ibis even if you book into the f1,or if you dont make it that far theres plenty of hotels on the n10 or just off it,some routiers do accomodation too and the food is great compared to the uk transport cafes
